I've played a lot of Teles over the years. More expensive ones even. But this is a keeper!

This Squier entry-level series are good instruments if you're looking to spend around 200 dollars out the door. I purchased one specifically to upgrade it. It was decent out of the box, but as with most inexpensive guitars, it did not stay in tune. I installed Hipshot locking tuners and replaced the nut with a bone nut. I also did some light sanding of the frets to level them out and smooth the fret edges. I was truly shocked by the results. it now plays and sounds like one of my high-end American-made teles. Best decision I've made. It looks really cool, and in total I probably spent 300-325 dollars. If you are on a budget, get one and learn how to upgrade it by watching Youtube vids. It really is very simple.

How do I even start with this piece of garbage guitar. It's good for a beginner if they don't mind the constant buzzing of frets, the uneven fret crowning, and the overall lack of quality control here. I guess for this price I shouldn't have expected more but i'd at least like the guitar to be playable. Expect to actually spend about $409 after you get everything leveled and all of the set up. Fret buzz galore, I have two strats, an epiphone les paul, a jackson with a floyd rose, and have not had nearly the problems i've had with this. Heck my starter kit Silvertone from 8 years ago is better than this. Run and run fast or you'll only be dissapointed

Shocked at how good a squier can be. Not a single blemish and sounds as a tele should. Had no need for a set-up, low action, no fret buzz, and the neck has a better feel than any of the more expensive guitars that I own. As a leukemia patient and transplant recipient I play to keep my sanity and this tele helps. I have 8 guitars I play on YouTube at Mangus Music and reviewed this guitar. It's one of my favorites. Also, one of the main complaints people have with squier is the pick-ups aren't as loud as fender's. That problem is easily fixed by raising the pick-ups just a little.
