amazing guitar with a lot of good sound. great for beginners

i picked up this guitar because i was interested in learning. didnt understand at the time how much you can get out of it and the amp for how cheap it is.the craftsmanship is great. the sound you can get out of it and the amp is good for how cheap everything is. the neck and makes it more enjoyable to play as it has has a satin finish that can be not the greatest looking, but doesn't stick when you sweat and stuff. the craziest thing is all the tones/sounds you can get out of it. the regular overdrive channel is always the best on the amp. my main problem with the clean channel is that the sound just doesn't change at all no matter what pickup you flip to. i am a big fan of a couple different sounds so i spent my fair amount of time messing with the amp.almost anything is achievable on it with this guitar except a scene sound ( although you can get pretty close with the bridge pick up and some settings), a heavy metal sound, and blues.other than that ask and you got it. pop? pickup blend between middle and bridge on overdrive. Hard rock/punk? overdrive, bridge pickup, 3+ on volume (except for sweet child o' mine, then keep it at like a 2-2.5). soul/spiritual or lynyrd skynryd? neck pickup on overdrive, 2-4 volume. overall the amp and guitar have worked great in the time I've had them (4 months or so now). the gig bag is kinda trashy, and i would recommend replacing it with a better case after a couple months, but it will work fine for a beginner. personally i recommend getting slightly thicker picks then the ones that come in the box because the picks that come in the box are so thin it can become a chore to hit a string hard enough to play, and if you put to much tension on it when hitting the string it could snap or hit extra strings unintentionally.(i recommend bright colored picks too, since you can drop them a lot, especially when beginning, and darker ones tend to blend into things, making them easy to lose) only thing I've had to replace is the strings. 9/10

Great starter guitar, except....

I paid full price for a "brand new" guitar, but instead got something that was used. Overall, it is a great sounding guitar. Too bad the Guitar Center at which I ordered it from sold me something used. Don't buy from Guitar Centers if you are expecting a brand new product. It came with loose screws and even a missing screw from the pickguard. The fretboard is scuffed, but is only noticeable in lighting. Input slot's nut was loose on delivery.

I love this guitar and the finish on it and how it plays after I got it setup at a local shop however when I bought it the selector switch was a little broken id assume a wiring problem somewhere and it also sounds like it has bad pots, overall its okay though

I bought this a year or so ago and it got me to where I am today. Obviously not the greatest Instrument of all time but there has never been a better starter pack at this cost. It wont be the perfect guitar forever but I highly recommended it to any beginner guitarist looking to launch their career!

Very happy with purchase. The guitar seems like good quality for the price and the fit and finish is very good. No complaints with equipment or GC shipping/support.

  • Would definitely recommend.

This product is good in every sense of the word. After a string change and new cable, this guitar sounds incredible. I would highly recommend a new strap though, as the one that came with mine fell off, meaning I had to re-tighten the jack and get a new cable.

Can you tell me if this set is for beginning kids? My son's about to be 10.

This still might be too big, however, these are great beginner guitars and are smaller then a standard guitar.
