Great Bass, Great Value.
I've played this bass for over a year now. The bass itself has a great build and feels like a quality instrument. The pickups themselves are pretty good for the price of this bass (good versatility and tone control; these have a volume pickup for the P-pickups and for the J-pickups, and a tone knob). My main complaint besides the stock strings being dull-sounding is that the stock electronics are not well connected. This could just be my bad luck, after 7 months of playing a faint buzzing could be heard and eventually got louder and louder. I resoldered them and they worked just fine, but in the end, I replaced them with an EMG PJHZ set that was just better overall. Otherwise, this is a great bass for any beginners or novices which can be easily customized to fit the playing of someone more experienced. The amp comes with is great for practicing. I wouldn't use it for gigs, but for learning and jamming with friends, this amp delivers your grooves at a solid volume. Eventually, you will want to get a bigger, nicer amp with more EQ and tone controls, but for beginners, it gets the ball rolling when it comes to learning the basics of EQing.

The cable included is awful
The bass sounds great, and I am excited to keep playing it. It is really annoying, however, that the jack cable started showing contact problems after just 5 days of use, and that I have had to buy a new one already. The bad quality of this value package's complements might lead some people to reconsider whether it is actually worth it to purchase a product that requires further money expenses.

I love this Bass!!!!!

I have been playing bass for the better part of 12 years! And I know squire is typically associated with beginner bass players. However, I think that Squier makes outstanding basses that rival the name brand Fender. For a much lower price. I have been playing for awhile and I love this bass in my opinion it is just as good as Fender PJ, the fret buzz is because you need to set the action. With the action set the fret buzz isn't there. The pick ups are great and the bass is comfortable and sounds amazing! I would much rather get a Squier for this price than spend the extra $1k for a name.

The bass is cool but when I tried restringing it, the E string wouldn't move away from the pickups and I'm not sure exactly how to fix it
