Very Happy

I've been playing Squier guitars for years, mainly due to the fact that I don't gig or anything and they are easily accessible on a hobby budget. I have some vintage Korean Squiers that date back to the 80's and was always pleased with the feel of those necks. I have a Chinese 20th anniversary that I rebuilt (came to me in bad shape) and even the neck on that one felt great to me. I came across this series during an eBay search of guitar parts. So I did a little research, and saw that Guitar Center had a used one at a great price. First off, I couldn't tell it was used. It was in excellent shape. I did a minor setup, nothing against the one that was already done, but I set it to my preference. The neck feels great. The Vintage Edition has a satin finish (and roasted maple neck), whereas the Gold Edition has a gloss finish. I like the feel of the satin finish, it gives it a "worn" vibe. I was worried the quality control of an Indonesian Squier wouldn't be on par with the quality control of my Korean Squiers or even the Chinese one, but it exceeds expectations. Absolutely no need to touch the frets on this one. In fact, the only Squier I had to do fretwork on was a Bullet series. Needless to say, I'm very happy with this one and I'm glad I found it.

Not the Squire platform I was hoping for

High hopes for this Squire due to positive reviews. Intonation issues immediately after setup. Wanted this to be a long term build guitar but fretwork was of poor quality. Both e strings buzz after setup. Returned for better Squire with a better neck. Might be good enough for a beginner/kid but not good enough for me.

Brand new guitar, beat up out of the box, cracked finish, dinged up finish and, last but certainly not least, 2 of the 3 pickups were dead. I'm very disappointed in this "musical instrument". I never want to give Fender or Squier my money ever again.

  • Almost solid

Almost everything about this guitar was above and beyond my expectations. Two main issues. The frets are somehow level but they all have gaps under the fret ends on the high e string side, due to this issue the high e string tends to get stuck under the frets, I filled he gaps with super glue and sanded flush. The high e string was buzzing, the issue was the nut, I light filing solved that issue. Not deal breakers for me but might be for someone else

  • Will buy another again

So far so good. Great guitar, well designed and constructed. What one expects of a Stratocaster. Nice neck, well finished fret ends, smooth feel.

  • For the price, this guitar is definitively worth owning.

Build quality and setup straight from the box are comparable to a fender player strat for a lot less money. Ordered to use with a computer in hotel while away on business.

  • Product worked great for me.

Mostly used at home studio and with friends. Little on the heavy side if you gig much, works for my needs. Impressed with quality and the sound for the price.
