I had to replace tuners on my Hofner bass and wanted something dependable that didn't compromise the appearance or feel of the bass. I hooked up with Guitar Center online and found Sperzel Bass tuning keys in Satin Chrome. They are very light and durable with string locks, a great combination. No, they aren't the original Hofner tuners but they look better and work smoother! I bought my Hofner to play and play hard and the Sperzel tuners allow me to just that, in tune!

I've tried several brands of tuners, hipshots are nice.... but my favorite of all are the sperzels because they don't weight down your headstock, they're the lightest on the market, also the locking mechanism is very cool, I build basses for a living and I could go for cheaper tuners, but I go for the best. Sperzels.
