I'm so stoked that Guitar Center has parts like this in stock and ready to go. This was the last piece I needed for our project, and I was able to get it immediately. Nice.

  • Good throw off for the price!

I have old yamaha steel snare which i restored... I needed the throw off because original one was hard to turn on... the spacing is 1,5 inch so that was perfect... what i had to do i had to drill a little biger holes for screws that is no huge problem when you got drill and some drills... now my snare got a second life!

  • This saved my snare

Had to replace a Gretsch throw off but couldn't find the exact match from our church snare. Was able to get one of these and east to set up and hole spacing fit exact!

Does this fit the Ludwig BackBeat 14" Snare Drum?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
Most likely not a direct fit — but it might be possible with modification. Mounting Hole Spacing SPD10 Throw-Off: Typically has vertical mounting hole spacing around 1" to 1.25" (25.4mm to 31.75mm) center-to-center. Ludwig BackBeat Snare: Ludwig often uses a proprietary layout — especially on their budget lines like the BackBeat — with mounting holes around 1.5" to 2.5" apart, depending on the year/model. The mounting holes most likely won’t line up, meaning you'd have to drill new holes in the shell to make it fit — not ideal unless you're comfortable modifying your drum. SPD10 is made for Sound Percussion student/budget snare drums which may have a different shell diameter curvature than Ludwig’s shell contour.

Does this fit a Ludwig black beauty 13 x 6.5?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
The Sound Percussion Labs SPD10 Standard Snare Drum Throw-Off is a generic-style throw-off designed to fit many standard snare drums. However, fitting it to a Ludwig Black Beauty 13x6.5 snare—especially a high-end model like this—might not be straightforward due to: 1. Mounting Hole Spacing Ludwig Black Beauty throw-offs (like the P85, P86, or P88AC) often have specific mounting hole spacing. The SPD10 may not have the same hole spacing, and if not, you’d have to: Drill new holes (not recommended for a valuable drum like a Black Beauty). Use an adapter plate (if one exists or can be fabricated). Aesthetic and Functional Mismatch The SPD10 is a budget part, while the Black Beauty is a premium drum. The throw-off’s materials and operation may not match the quality or look of the Ludwig. Ludwig throw-offs are often smoother and more robust. Lug Clearance and Shell Curvature The curvature of the SPD10’s base and its overall footprint might not sit flush on a 13" drum shell. Interference with lugs or tension rods could also be a concern.
