not all pedals clamp correctly to this thing, .it gets loose and wiggles back and forth, it does not really feel like a kick drum. not enjoyable to play. the Tama Tru touch is what you want, I can't stop playing those with the dynasynch pedals it feels so great. if you don't want to get the Tama Tru touch, you would probably be better off playing a moving suitcase or a cardboard box. : )

  • I love it

Had this pad for a few years, it served it's purpose but the rubber material tore over time obviously making it difficult to use since it would catch the pedal inside the tear and cause them to stick. I play moderately hard most of the time I practice foot work so I know this overtime caused it. The pad is very airy and cushy so it really makes you work for the hits which is good for building strength and endurance especially with double bass work but I would definitely recommend gilbraltar design a moe suitable system/material for the pad or make it adjustable like someone else said in their review. Good pad but would definitely recommend trying other pads if you want more of a real feel or something more durable for hard hitters/ double bass players.

  • Good for practice.
