Understanding the fact that this is a low quality snare, It literally came to me half assembled. I had to take the heads off and put all of the screws that hold the tuning lugs to the shell back in. The construction is extremely cheap, they used very flimsy plastic dome washers on every screw that pull through even with the slightest snugging of the screw. The snare throw fell apart after the second or third time I used it. the head is a very thin single ply coated. The coating has completely worn off exposing a clear film head underneath. This snare will suit the need that it was purchased for but it is a cheap piece of dookie. You have been warned.

This is a great little piccolo for the money. The hardware and shell are solid costruction as is all of Sound Percussion equipment. The snare throwoff is a little cheap, but it's functional. Once you slap on a couple of Remo heads, this drum creates a very nice little snap. The metal shell helps keep the tone high, with only a moderate amount of ring. Overall, I like this drum for live performances as it has great projection. I would probably recommend a small maple piccolo for studio work, though.
