Great speaker for music and edrums!
I am very pleased with this speaker and Guitar City for honoring its price match guarantee. It sounds great on my Alese Surge SE. I compared in the store the 8, 10, and 12 and found the overall clarity on the 8" as good the 10" and the bass not too far off. The 12" actually sounded a bit muffled. I guess the larger woofer needs more/bigger tweeter. There are two settings on these speakers, one for on the floor and one if mounted on a pole at head level. Personally I find the pole setting to sound better in all positions. It sounds more like a bass boost imo. At home this speaker sounds even better, and bass quite impressive for an 8" woofer. I'm very glad I just got the 8". It also gets plenty loud for practice use. I highly recommend this Simmons DA2108. It sounds great playing my edrums or just music, or both for a cool jam session. I look forward to more jam sessions!

Good basic indoor practice amplifier...
Good for basic indoor practice only. The pros: price, compact size, quality build, and serves it's purpose well. Cons: no true volume adjustment, no midrange adjustment, clips very easily from the input module, clips easily on the input adjustment. Overall, the amp sounds good but the volume depends on output of the module and input adjustment - you have to adjust both to get the best clarity. If you can afford it, buy the 2110 model, it literally blows the 2108 away.

Great addition to my Simmons titan 70. At first I looked at the DA2110 and DA2112 and decided it would be too much air movement. Glad I bought the DA2108. This speaker/amp is still more than I needed but glad that I bought it. .

I use this singularly for personal practice and enjoyment with my Roland electronic drum kit - it is acceptable for that use. I cannot imagine it would be adequate for performing as it seriously lacks depth and vibrancy. As it relates to volume, it's perfect for indoor practice by yourself, though certainly will begin clipping and further degrading sound quality if you push the volume at all. This is to be expected with such a small speaker, so it's it a negative per se, but be aware. If you can snag it on sale as I did, worth it for practice

Got this to go with my daughter's Alesis electronic drum set so she can effectively practice. Was worried it might be too loud in our 1 story condo, but its fine. We really like that you can hook up to Bluetooth to play music while playing the drums at the same time.

I read that I should use a Livewire Elite Instrument Cable to hook this to my Simmons Titan 50 Electric Drum Set. But do I need the cable with both straight plug-ins or the one with the angle and a straight plug-in?
The angle doesn't matter. Both will work.submitteda year ago

Would this amp work well for movie audio?
I don't know the definition of "movie" audio. This is a nice full range system. It's not designed for "fidelity". It's not flat. It's loud. Do you need studio monitors?submitted2 years ago
