Description

The Shure PGA58 Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone is a professional-grade tool designed to elevate your vocal performances to new heights. With its dynamic cardioid polar pattern, it effectively captures your voice while minimizing unwanted background noise, ensuring crystal-clear sound reproduction. The durable construction ensures longevity, making it perfect for both studio recordings and live gigs.

Tailored Frequency Response Enhances Vocal Presence

The PGA58's tailored frequency response enhances vocal presence and clarity, allowing your voice to cut through the mix with remarkable precision. Highs are slightly accentuated to increase intelligibility, while the low end provides a rich, full-bodied tone. The result is a microphone that complements the natural qualities of the human voice.

Rugged Design Withstands Rigors of Live Performance

Road-ready and built to last, the PGA58 can withstand the rigors of live performance thanks to its durable metal grille and robust internal shock mount. An integral pop filter reduces explosive breath sounds for distortion-free results. Its cardioid pickup pattern isolates the main sound source while reducing unwanted background noise, giving you maximum gain before feedback in amplified applications.

Versatile and Affordable

Whether you're just getting started or looking to expand your mic locker, the PGA58 is a versatile and affordable solution. It works equally well for lead vocals, backing vocals and speech. An included snap-on mic clip, zippered pouch and choice of XLR or 1/4" cable provide everything needed to get started. At this price, you can outfit your whole band with a quality Shure microphone.

Great mic!

We DJ, and are using these mics with Pioneer controllers. We bought this mic because it has a switch. The switch is smooth, quiet, and easy to use on a stand, or in hand. The sound is awesome. We noticed the difference immediately, and we received compliments from our regulars. Very clean, rich sound, with no background or feedback issues.

This mic is not good for lead vocals! It is not clear and crisp like it should be. If you put ANY amount of reverb (even the slightest) with this mic, it makes you sound like you're in a tunnel. Since I switched to this mic, I've had some feedback about how my voice sounds much better with the old cheap mic I used to have. I'm going to upgrade to the SM58 for better quality.

Looking for a cheaper mic for podcasting. I have looked into both condenser mics and dynamic mics and have heard that dynamic mics works better in situations where you don't have a soundproof room. All this being said, would this be a good mic for podcasting?

    Open Reply - Ronald
This would be a good place to start. You wouldn't get as high a quality sound as you would with a condenser mic, but you also wouldn't get the background noise.
