Shure

collapse expand iconDescription

The Shure BETA 98AMP/C 3-Pack gives you three BETA 98AMP/C drum microphones for a cost-effective way to optimized coverage of your kit on the stage or the studio. The BETA 98AMP/C drum microphone combines an integrated preamplifier with a miniature cardioid capsule to provide a smooth, natural tailored response for drums and percussion.

The BETA 98AMP/C has a wide dynamic range and has a sound pressure level (SPL) capability 7dB higher than other BETA 98 versions. Uniform cardioid polar pattern provides maximum gain-before-feedback and rejection of off-axis sound for smooth high-end response and control. The BETA 98AMP/C has a miniature design that lets it be positioned in spaces where a full-sized mic won't fit, and the included A75M universal microphone mount allows accurate and secure placement in any configuration. This 3-pack includes a flexible gooseneck, snap-fit windscreen and zippered carrying pouch.

After years of using dynamic mics on my drums, I finally stopped putting of upgrading my mics, and thought the clarity of a condenser mic, combined with a built in preamp, would be a nice update to my sound. But holy WOW, the sound quality, clarity, dynamics, it's exquisite! From now on, even when playing venues with house sound, I am bringing my own mics with! I've always been happy with the sound of Shure SM57's, Audix D series, and my long time goto, the Sennheiser E604's, but these are next level! And as an added bonus, the mounting clips are the most universal I have ever seen. I have 9 acoustic sets in my collection, with about every type of mic mounting challenge you can think of... standard hoops, S-hoops, Die Cast hoops, wood hoops, RIMS mounts, and these will find a way to fit literally anything I can throw at them. Quite expensive, and worh every single penny.

  • Absolutely love the clarity & big sound!

I use the 98's on my toms, love the sound & compactness. Had a little trouble positioning the mic on my 2nd tom, I'm playing a set of Tama Rock star customs appx 17 years old. The 1st gen star cast mounting system gets in the way a little, but I figured it out, np.
