I have found over the years that I like the way my voice sounds best through the SM57 instead of SM58. This helps with windage and air.

  • A great addition to an already excellent mic.

I bought two to replace two I bought many years ago. The old ones' foam fell ill and began to fall apart. But after many many outdoor gigs, it wasn't a big surprise. We use SM57s for vocals and instrument micing and the windscreen sure helps at outdoor shows. They are easy to attach using a single one-screw method. For the price, a great addition for an otherwise excellent mic.

I use my SM57 primarily for my acoustic guitar, but needed it for vocals too. This windscreen has really cut down on the natural plosives that occur when singing close to the mike. You just slip it over the end of the mic and it stays put with minor adjustment. Mine came in gray rather than black. You have be careful how you store it because it does compress and is easily disfigured. My has held up for about four years now and I highly recommend it if you are going to use the SM57 for vocals.
