This microphone will get you the attack of the kick drum really nice, and if you want the full sound of the kick drum you also need the e902.... this is the real deal.

  • Awesome.

One of the best kick drum mics I've ever used. This thing really captures what most of us are TRYING to do with a huge dynamic mic and lots of EQ.... I've had several drummers offer me cash for it at the end of the night.

Since this mic has a built-in preamp, should it be plugged into the line input? Also, wouldn't it need phantom power since it is a condenser? Does that mean it would need external power?

No, use a mic input. And yes, it's going to need phantom power
