TUTORIAL: e 604 Drum Dynamic Microphone | Sennheiser

Sennheiser - The Future of Audio

Description
The E604 Drum Microphone 3-Pack from Sennheiser is a brand synonymous with pristine sonic reproduction. This robust yet refined three-pack is optimized for drum sets and percussion, with a cardioid pattern and flat frequency response that delivers balanced, transparent sound. Each mic handles an astounding 160dB SPL, capturing every nuance. An advanced shock mount and reinforced fiberglass body provide durability and shield against handling noise and impact.
Capture Each Strike With Ease
The E604's highly focused cardioid pattern isolates the drum source, rejecting excess ambient noise for a clean signal. A flat frequency response from 40 Hz to 18 kHz means each strike is reproduced faithfully. With a sensitivity of just 2.5 mV/Pa, these mics pick up the subtlest details. An ultra-low 7dB-A noise floor ensures a high signal-to-noise ratio so you'll capture the full dynamic range.
Roadworthy and Ready for the Rigors of Stage and Studio
The E604's lightweight yet rugged build makes miking a drum kit fast and frustration-free. A reinforced fiberglass body and stainless steel basket can endure the hardest hits, drops and shocks. An advanced internal shock mount suppresses handling noise and impact for a quiet operation. With a diameter of just 22mm, the E604 slips into even the tightest setups, ideal for drummers wanting a streamlined kit.
Flexible Enough for Any Percussion or Brass Instrument
While optimized for drums, the E604's balanced response also works beautifully on brass, woodwinds and other percussion. Simply switch out the included drum clip for an optional mic stand adapter to capture timpani, cymbals, saxophones or trumpets. With a sensitivity tailored for high SPL sources, the E604 ensures a clean, articulate signal no matter the instrument.

I use these on stage and in the practice studio on my congas. Since they are small and compact with mounting clips that eliminate the need for bulky space consuming stands they clean up the clutter and help in keeping the stage looking tidy and organized. The mounting clips seem a little flimsy and could use a little more adjustment range but they work and have never come undone while in use. The mics work great and deliver clear sound bringing out tones that, when playing unplugged, are masked by all the other instruments or are otherwise hard to discern with the naked ear. A few adjustments on the equalizer and my drums sound great. I am going to get one more 604 to finish replacing the 57's I had been using. I wish it had been available in a four pack.
Not just for live sound!!!
