Beats $700-$800 Taylors and Gibsons IMO
This guitar blew me away in the store. I came in with a budget of $1000 or less and played everything I could get my hands on. This one felt better to me (the nut is a little wider than on a typical guitar) and the sustain and tone on this guitar was amazing for the price. I honestly couldn't believe the sound for how cheap this was. The cedar top and cherry body produces a different sound from the typical sitka-spruce solid top guitar, but I enjoy it. The sound is even up and down the neck and the sustain keeps going on and on and on....Honestly for less than $400 this guitar can't be beat. Little touches like the shaved frets and smoothness of the neck just make this guitar feel so high quality. What other guitar can you get handmade in North America (Canada specifically) for this price? You honestly won't find one anywhere. Play it in the store (make sure the strings aren't 300 years old) and you will experience the sound and want it. I guarantee it.

I probably wouldn't buy this again
Lots of buzzy frets and dead spots up the neck.

Beautiful Workmanship

Just picked up my new Seagull S6 Original acoustic guitar. It's a work of art. Beautifully crafted with attention to detail in a very understated yet elegant manner. Quality control on this guitar is fantastic. The sound is rich and full giving the impression that this is a much more expensive instrument. I was on the fence about for days comparing various Taylor's and Martin's in the under $1,000 range. Decided to go Canadian versus Mexican or Chinese and I'm very glad I did!

This guitar is great for the Beginner in that the strings are far enough apart that learning and playing chords doesn't frustrate to the point of quitting. The guitar has a good tone and plays very well regardless of skill.
Best guitar for the money in my opinion

This is my 3rd Seagull. I passed my first one down to my son over 20 years ago and it sounds better than it ever did. If you are on a budget and looking for a great guitar, put one of these In your hand. You won't be disappointed.

This was a guitar when I played it I instantly knew I had to have it. It has great low end/depth and presence. However, I was uncertain about the headstock shape and 1.8 nut width. Despite that the sound kept me coming back multiple times and i eventually bought the guitar.

I use this guitar to play with my guitar mates and love the sound and functionality of the guitar. I also have large hands, and the wider neck makes it easier to play.
Excellent as expected, no surprises

Is this better than the original S6? And does it sound brighter than the S6?
This guitar would be the same quality of the original S6. It would also sound very similar to the original S6.
