Schecter Guitar Research Traditional Van Nuys Electric Guitar Gloss Natural
Description
The Schecter Guitar Research Traditional Van Nuys Electric Guitar delivers a stunning gloss finish and premium components for an unmistakably vintage tone with modern playability. Featuring a double-cutaway swamp ash body, roasted maple neck and fretboard, this full-size electric guitar provides articulate low end, clear highs and a throaty midrange. This guitar has a Schecter USA SuperRock Vintage bridge pickup and a set of MonsterTone single coils for a wide range of different tones. A Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece anchor the strings to the body, while Schecter locking tuners keep this guitar in tune through hours of playing.
Double-Cutaway Swamp Ash Body Resonates With Warmth
The Schecter Traditional Van Nuys' double-cutaway swamp ash body produces a resonant and bright tone with pronounced low end and great sustain. Weighing in at just under 9 pounds, this full-scale electric guitar is lightweight and comfortable during long practice or performance sessions.
Roasted Maple Neck Offers Stability and Playability
The Schecter Traditional Van Nuys neck is constructed of maple for maximum stability and topped with a 14" radius roasted maple fretboard. A thin, C-shaped profile and 22 jumbo frets provide a familiar feel for chording and soloing. Dot inlays guide along the fretboard so you can see where you are, at a glance, without distraction.
Custom Schecter Pickups Capture Vintage Tone
The Schecter Traditional Van Nuys is equipped with a Schecter USA SuperRock Vintage bridge pickup and a set of MonsterTone single coils for an articulate tone and clarity. These medium-output humbuckers capture the sound of classic rock and blues, with enough output for overdrive and distortion.
Diamond Vintage Tremolo Bridge and Locking Tuners Provide Rock-Solid Intonation and Tuning
A Diamond Vintage Tremolo bridge anchor the strings to the Schecter Traditional Van Nuys' body for accurate intonation and sustain. Schecter locking tuners turn smoothly and hold tune through vigorous playing. Together, these components give you a guitar that stays in tune and is ready to rock at a moment's notice.

I never really gave Schecter a chance. Thought they just metal shredder guitars but this gets great vintage tones as well as classic tock Strat tones and the roasted maple neck feels great in my hands.
Great guitar. First Schecter I've owned, and VERY impressed.

This thing is awesome. Really great sounding pick-ups. Beautiful finish. Beautiful roasted neck. Good tuning stability. (After a thorough set up). Very versatile guitar. I absolutely love it. Can't put it down. The only complaint I have, is that the frets needed to be polished. No sharp edges, just needed polishing. It'll be hard to find a better guitar in this price range.

This guitar not only looks amazing it is extremely well finished. The fretwork is immaculate, the intonation is perfect and the overall fit and finish is fantastic. I have never been a huge Shecter fan and have owned a few in the past and sold them. This guitar however immediately grabbed my attention from its amazing looks, I picked it up and I couldn't put it down. It sounds and plays like a dream

I bought this new at GC. Aside from the old strings that were on it, the guitar was set up properly. It looks like the quitar went through QC in the USA, according to the sticker on the control cavity cover. Ash body and roasted maple neck, locking tuners. No fret buzz or fret sprout was present, unlike some of my Charvel and EVH guitars at this price point. The fretboard width allows plenty of room for pull offs and bends without slipping off the edge of the fretboard. The US made bridge pickup is mid output around 10k with the middle and neck pickups giving you that unmistakable vintage hot single coil tone. I will not be replacing the stock pickups. This is my first Schecter as I was never drawn to the asthetic of their product line. I think the Van Nuys sits in their with the Ibanez AZ series in terms of build quality, fit and finish, but for less money. I highly recommend this very versatile guitar for jazz, blues, hard rock and 80's-90's metal.
At this price point, this guitar is like a custom USA guitar

First this guitar for its price point is almost comparable to a custom American quality for the exception of the very refined details and TLC you get with a Custom guitar. For example, the beautiful finish is a natural gloss, unbelievable toasted maple neck, outstanding traditional tremolo bridge that works like a dream. Most of all this is the most versatile quality guitar I own, but the Schacter Van Nays guitar came delivered from Factory not set up properly, and inside the back of guitar where the springs are for the tremolo bridge is where they ground the electronics for the guitar, that was not soldered down to the metal, so I had to do it, and then had to set it up myself, no big whoop, after that she played like a dream with the Humbucker pick up and two single pickups. For a guy who plays all rock from The old school Hendrix to kirk Hammett, I need that traditionally Strat sound as well as the 80's 90's Metal. Its a high end experience all the way around for the money.
