Description

This stylish and affordable Riot-5 Session 5-string electric bass features an 18V active pickup system with two EMG-designed single coils. The electronics consist of a master volume and a master blend knob that mixes the relative volume of the middle and bridge pickups. There is also a three-band active rotary EQ with cut and boost controls for bass/middle/treble. The satin finish lets the swamp ash grain show though and the lines and hardware complement to the inherent stylishness of this versatile bass guitar.

Quality hardware, a slender and fast neck, active pickups and a handsome design make the Riot-5 a bass that is both affordable and professionally presentable.

This is without a doubt the best bass I have ever played. The neck is thin enough that it almost feels like I'm playing a 4 string, and the Low B doesn't have the noticeable difference from the rest of the strings (ie, muddy) that I've experienced with many other 5 strings. Every note I play is crisp and clean (but probably has caffeine by association via my coffee-fiending hands) and packs an amazing punch. Feels great, plays great, sounds great, and looks cool... I love the natural finish and the unique fret inlays.

You cannot find a better bass for under $700. You get a swamp ash body, EMG pickups, gotoh tuners, and many other pro features you would have to pay hundreds more for in other brands. This is by far the most versatile bass I have ever played; I can play jazz, metal, classic rock, or reggae on this thing and it all sounds equally amazing! Definitely better than the Ibanez I owned before. I 100% recommend it!

As the first review said, this bass could sell for a lot more money.i played on the 4 string version first and really liked its feel and tone variations.i already have a 4string Marcus Miller bass. So I decided to get the Riot 5 string.the light weight and great neck and body feel was really great. Those EMGs really give this bass powerful slap and thump tone. It also has a great finger style tone too. I play old school funk smooth jazz blues and soft rock and Gospel. This bass handles all these styles!! Get one while the price is right! I think they will ask more for this bass in time.
