I'm being hard with this review because, while the guitar is a joy, the Floyd Rose Special is a deva. It came with paradigms which I don't like. They are too stiff for my taste. I tried to change them and ran into fret buzz on the g string after the 12th fret. That's when the fun started. The Floyd is just too unstable to make the fine adjustments needed without some seriously accurate measuring devices. Blocking it off helped but when the block is removed the intonation changes and you get fret buzz on a random string. As a lefty I've been switching right to left for years and never had an intonation problem that I couldn't fix until now. I did some research and found the same issue with the Floyd Rose Special on other brands. Do yourself a favor and buy the thing without a Floyd Rose. I wouldn't recommend a Floyd Rose to my worst enemy. As for the guitar....like I said buy it without a Floyd and you're going to be happy.

I had some issues with the neck and many strings dragging and buzzing. After a few attempts to get it resolved I was able to send it back to them for either repair or exchange. They repaired it and shipped it back in one day, and it plays amazing. I'm very happy with the instrument and how they handled the repair. With that being said, disregard the review with only 1 star. 5 Stars all the way!

Just wanted to update my review with a improv vid and say I'm really enjoying this guitar. Sound on vid does not represent the quality very well, don't have any good recording equipment yet, just wanted players to see this guitar being played, enjoy!
So far so good

I'm a first time Schecter guitar buyer and I'm very pleased with the quality, sound and feel of this guitar. Solid build, stays in tune even after extreme bending/whammy bar use and the look of the guitar is even better in person. I see another buyer here had some issues with this guitar after some use, so I'll keep an eye on this or any other issues should they arise...hope not, so far it plays and sounds awesome. Hopefully Schecter can resolve this buyers issues.
Takes some getting used to

Like the previous reviewer I too am used to playing Les Paul guitars. I wanted a more versatile guitar with a Floyd Rose and I knew I didn't really care for Ibanez guitars. I've noticed that Schecter had become quite popular with many musicians so I thought I'd give this a shot. First off, the guitar is beautiful. The craftsmanship seems solid. The neck is very thin and narrow so it's great for someone with smaller hands and I really love the satin finish on the back of the neck. Combined with the jumbo frets it makes for a very precise playing experience. The one thing that takes getting used to is the placement of the knobs and the selection switch. They're placed in a such a way that getting to them quickly while playing takes some practice. You'll notice that the tremolo is in the way of reaching the knobs at times. The guitar is great at staying in tune which is something I've always had a problem with on guitars with the Floyd Rose (Ibanez). The pickups are loud but clear. The tone of the guitar isn't very deep but again, I'm used to a Les Paul so I attribute this to the body material more than anything. Listen to Ratt's "Out of the Cellar" from the 80's to get an understanding of the sound I'm describing. Overall, I like the guitar. It's fun to play and doesn't make your shoulder ache after playing for an hour like the Gibson does.

Does open box mean the guitar is damaged in any way?
It means the manufacture's box has been opened and there may be minor scratches on it. All cosmetic damage and won't affect the way it plays. It means the manufacture's box has been opened and there may be minor scratches on it. All cosmetic damage and won't affect the way it plays.
