Schecter Guitar Research Damien-6 FR 6-String Electric Guitar Satin Black
Description
A satin black mahogany body provides a rich and complex combination of warmth, resonance and sustain.
A maple neck with rosewood fretboard, thin C neck shape, 14" radius, 25.5" scale length and 24 extra-jumbo frets is built for speed, tone and effortless playability. Lightning fast runs, arpeggios and hammer-ons have never been easier. Pearloid bat inlays adorn this menacing machine.
The Schecter Damien is loaded with a set of Schecter Diamond “Heretic” humbucker pickups that produce a balanced yet aggressive and combative tone. The center Alnico V magnet coupled with Ceramic 8 flanking magnets deliver a crushing midrange while maintaining a tight, focused and articulate response. The Heretic pickups were designed to conjure the heaviest tones that shake the ground you stand on.
Volume/Tone (push-pull) and 3-way switch controls give you an infinite selection of tonal choices. A Floyd Rose Special Hot Rod bridge lets you aggressively dive bomb while returning to perfect tuning, and Schecter tuners put the finishing touches on this undisputed pound for pound champion of guitars being offered at this price point.

What a serious piece of guitar!

This guitar is great. It came set up perfect from the factory. There was no fret sprout, the intonation was spot on, the action was nice and low, and there was no finish flaws anywhere. The heretic pickups are very versatile. You can play anything from country to metal on them and they sound great. The Floyd Rose hot rod bridge system will keep your guitar in tune perfect. I cannot recommend this guitar enough. If you'd like to hear some short review videos of it, I have four videos on YouTube that are 60 seconds each. If you type in Jesse Perrotti, it will bring up the videos of this guitar along with other short review videos I've done. I will also be releasing new guitar, amp, and effect videos weekly.

I was doubting at first if I would continue playing it after a year. But after a year later, I'm still playing it more than my Gibson studio.

I preordered this guitar but I received a used guitar. The new Schecter guitar actually came inside a Dean guitars box and it was bubble wrapped inside. There were no Schecter guitar box or anything for a new guitar. The guitar didn't have any stickers or labels or plastic that you normally get buying a new guitar. A new schecter guitar normally has a sticker on one of the tone controller and plastics on the pickups. Mine didn't had any. It had scratches on the body and the head stock was completely dirty and on top of that the neck pickup was elevated from one side and not screwed in properly. The same issue was on the bridge pick up as well. If this was a minor issue I could have fixed it and kept the guitar. But I decided to return it immediately. Seems like I received a vendor item or display item but guitar center can clarify this issue. This the second guitar I bought from GC that had major issues out of the box. I let go of the first one but I will not keep doing this. I paid for a new guitar and I should receive a new guitar with everything in working order. As a customer this is not my job to buy a product receive it and than verify to see if I actually received a new product or a used one. For any new buyers please check this before anything else if you bought a new guitar.
