Schecter Guitar Research

collapse expand iconDescription

The Schecter DJ Ashba Signature Electric Guitar offers the modern guitarist a unique playing experience with enough power to handle any hard-rocking situation. Made for the stage, it features a flat-top alder body finished in Carbon Grey with impressive inlays on its bolt-on maple neck.

Electronics are what really drive this metal machine and they are super-charged. The DJ Ashba comes loaded with the Sustainiac system. This Driver/Pickup produces beautiful Humbucker tones when Sustain switch is off, and works as the Sustainiac Driver when switched On. The Sustainiac Driver creates an infinite feedback sustain of string vibrations by electromagnetic feedback.

Black hardware includes Grover tuners and a Floyd Rose tremolo for high-performance expression. Case sold separately.

This guitar is terrific. It plays smooth and it is like butter in your hands. I always tweak every guitar that I purchase...this one only required a little lowering of the action. It is a top mounted Floyd Rose, so it will stay in tune far better than a floating one (which I don't like and always add a tremolo stop to), and the D-Tuna seems to be more stable as far as the tuning on this guitar. The Sustainiac pickup is amazing—increasingly fun to play around with, and along with the kill switch, adds new characteristics that allow you to expand your imagination in playing. It is absolutely one of my favorites in my collection. Highly recommended.

  • I would love to own more guitars like this

This is the best designed guitar I have ever purchased. I thank DJ Ashba for making such an instrument. Schecter has done very good with this guitar.

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 10 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be about 8.5 lbs
