Schecter Guitar Research

collapse expand iconDescription

The Schecter C-7 SLS Elite “Evil Twin” is a dark and sinister addition to the extremely popular SLS Elite series. A 7-ply Maple/Walnut/Padauk neck-thru construction, reinforced with carbon fiber rods for stability and utilizing a spoke-wheel truss rod to facilitate easy adjustment, is mated to a swamp ash body with Ivory. Comfort carves in the waist and cutaway as well as an ultra-access carve at the neck joint enable you to explore all 24 X-Jumbo stainless steel frets across the 26.5” scale ebony fingerboard with absolute freedom, while the Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic and Modern Alnico humbuckers with individual voice controls deliver crushing power into your rig with unprecedented tonal expressiveness. Topping it all off, Schecter Locking Tuners, an Ernie Ball compensated nut, and a Hipshot bridge provide an ultra-stable platform to keep you in tune, and the striking satin black finish on the top with rusty grey sides and back will be sure to distinguish you from the pack.

Great guitar . Sounds amazing, fast neck, and great tone. My biggest complaint is the intonation is off.

As of August 2019, I've had this guitar for 4 months. It sounds sweet! I'm most impressed with Fishman pickups. It looks fantastic and feels great! I previously played 6-string guitars since 1986 and thought before I get into recording I would get comfortable playing a 7-string guitar. For me the neck is really wide and my wrist gets tired trying to play a lot of low B string riffage. I am sure I will get used to that as I play it more. There is nothing wrong with this guitar. I generally do not rate anything a 5-star unless there is a surprise that repeatedly exceeds my expectations. So far, this guitar meets my expectations and I enjoy playing it! Still trying to get used to play 6-string guitar riffs on the 7-string, so I am still playing 6-string riffs, scales and chords for the time being so I am used to the low B string being there. I initially went straight into playing on the low B string, but realized that I was missing strings since I had only previously played a 6-string. So I had to back track a bit. Now 6-string fingers are more natural and that 7th string is just waiting for me to really utilize it in my music.

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 8.5 lbs

The Jackson 7/8 String Multi-Fit Electric Guitar Gig Bag would be a good choice.
