This ride is just dark smooth and dry with a bit of wash, wish the bell was bigger but honestly still gets the job done ✅

Really a fun cymbal to play. Its very earthy with great stick definition. I have the 22" and you can crash it, but its a very fast dry crash sound. I would say its not an incredibly loud ride. Tremendous bell, its loud enough with a nice presence, not too shrill like some bells. Looks really cool too, love how it accents my kit visually.

I used this cymbal as a crash-ride for a first performance with my new band. I needed a low-volume, controlled, crash-ride type cymbal. The Big and Ugly series is just that, and the Apollo was the best option for what I was looking for. While the sound was generally not what I would be looking for, for what I needed it was perfect. Would primarily recommend for jazz settings, or settings where low volume is needed.
