If you want to sound like Chris Squire, Geddy Lee or, of course, John Entwistle, you must use Rotos. GHS Progressives are great 'twang' for regular bolt on necks, but the distinctive piano-like sound of Swing Bass strings have been my favorite bass strings since the early 1980's, best on Ric's and any bass with a good truss rod that can handle their steel tensioning. The strings are very bright but also make a little wear and tear on the frets over time - or on your fingertips!
I bought this medium gauge set for my bassist but I prefer the medium light gauge Swing Bass strings. I suspect their other products are very good too. Nice price for British excellence, Guitar Center!

read where Geddy Lee used these on his Jazz... got some for my 2010 Amer Jazz... never used this thin of a gauge before... still getting used to them... probably will go back to .45-.105... but for what they are- VERY NICE
