I am a professional drummer and I use the Rolls PM50s as a preamp for my metronome that I use as a click track live. This is an excellent way to get more volume over the band to hear the click. I use earbud headphones and the PM50s and my metronome are both at half volume. Excellent monitor amp!

This little device is a simple, no-frills way of getting control of your mix if you are struggling with overall volume with the stage mix or the blend of your group while performing live. Save your ears and look at what this little device can do for you... Just use an Aux Send from your mixer to the device to feed your overall mix to the personal monitor. Then, use an XLR from your amp or pedal board to the personal monitor and allow your signal to pass through the personal monitor device to your main mixer through a DI output. You control the blend of your instrument and the overall house mix (that your sound man directs to your via the Aux Send). If your two favorite words are 'simple' and 'economical', buy this device!

I've been a drummer/lead singer in a classic rock band for over 40 years. Typically, we set a monitor to the side of the drums so I can hear myself, but the monitor can never get close enough to me to where I can hear it well. Plus we often get feedback from my mike. The Rolls amp is the device I should have had 20 or 30 years ago. I'm not used to wearing headphones or earbuds, but this thing works beautifully. If I can't hear myself enough, I just turn up the volume for my mike, which doesn't affect the volume in the mix. It's a perfect fix.

I'm using this for a in-ear monitor for behind the drum kit. I have a pair of isolation headphones, which do a good job muting the drums a little, enough for me to hear the other musicians clearer. I have the volume maxed out as high as it goes. At times I wish the monitor could be louder. For the price it does a fair job. I may possibly upgrade in the future, but for now its a great monitor. Good monitor amp for the price. I would recommend to someone who is on a budget.

I'm a drummer in a rock band and I use one of these with in ear buds to pass our fly-ins from an Ipod mixed with my click tracks. It works perfectly and with even cheap ear buds the volume is super load. I have the click at about 1/2 with plenty of head room. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 is because I have had a few instances were the power on the unit has dropped off (mostly because of the power adapter not be-able to lock in place. Luckily it was only between setts or sound check. Because of this I have 2 of them 1 for a backup. I know there is a battery version PM55 but I like using a power adapter better. Other than that this is a great unit and replaced a much pricier headphone mixer I was using before, and so much easier to setup and pack up. I have it mounted to my hi-hat stand for easy volume control.

I bought this device because of its capabilities, size and cost. With our band I was unable to hear my voice with my standard floor monitor. I used this for the first time at our last gig and it was fantastic! It did not interfere the rest of the bands equipment and i could adjust the level of the monitor and my mic directly to my ear buds. As a direct result my confidence jumped. I used velcro to attach it to my mic stand so that I could reach the knobs. Its and excellent poor man's inner ear monitor. The only suggestion I would have is to create a mount for the mic stand. This is a 5 Star product.

I am a drummer in a Beatles over band and I sing harmonies and occasionally lead. With this monitor I can not only hear the other singers, I can hear myself in the mix. What a difference it makes! Our vocals have never been so tight. Best $50 investment you can make if you're a singing drummer!
