Introducing the Roland V-Drums Acoustic Design VAD706 Electronic Drum Kit

Overview of Roland V-Drums Acoustic Design VAD706 Electronic Drum Kit

Sounds of the Roland V-Drums Acoustic Design VAD706 (TD-50X Sound Module)

The Roland VAD706 V-Drums Acoustic Design drum set is a revolutionary instrument that provides an unprecedented level of nuance and expressiveness for electronic percussion. Combining Roland's industry-leading digital drum technology with premium drum shells and cymbals modeled after acoustic counterparts, the VAD706 delivers a playing experience indistinguishable from an acoustic kit. Whether performing on stage, recording in the studio, or practicing at home, this electronic drum set empowers drummers with a dynamic range of tonal options and hyper-realistic responsiveness.
Digitally Enhanced Drum Shells and Cymbals
At the heart of the VAD706 are digitally augmented drum shells and cymbals developed jointly by Roland and drum craftsmen at Drum Workshop. The shells provide the resonance and attack of acoustic drums, which is then picked up by trigger pads and converted into digital signals. This fusion of physical and electronic elements gives each drum a distinct, multi-dimensional character with nuance beyond that of a typical electronic kit. The ride, crash, splash, and hi-hat cymbals further enhance the acoustic experience with their natural profiles and motion sensitivity.
Roland's Tru-Resonance Sound Modeling
Underlying the VAD706's acoustic components is Roland's Tru-Resonance Sound Modeling technology, which leverages decades of expertise in digital percussion to produce incredibly authentic drum sounds. Tru-Resonance simulates the way sound resonates within an acoustic drum shell and projects outward, resulting in tones that are as vibrant and multi-layered as the real thing. With a variety of high-quality drum kits to choose from, drummers can explore sounds from classic rock to modern electronic and everything in between.
Advanced Trigger Pad and Cymbal Responsiveness
Roland's advanced digital trigger pads and cymbals translate a drummer's playing nuance with peerless precision, allowing for a wide range of articulations from subtle taps to aggressive strikes. The trigger pads in particular provide an ultra-fast, consistent response across the entire playing surface for accurate translation of rhythmic phrasing and dynamics. The hi-hat and cymbal pads are equally responsive, detecting force, position, and motion of drumsticks to recreate the subtleties of acoustic cymbal work in meticulous detail.
Additional Features for Practice and Performance
As expected of a Roland electronic drum set, the VAD706 comes equipped with valuable features for practice, performance, and music production. These include over 50 onboard drum kits and over 700 drum and percussion sounds, advanced on-board effects such as compression, USB and MIDI connectivity for recording and virtual performances, and a built-in metronome for improving timing. An optional digital display further enhances the experience with visual feedback on kit settings, performance data, and more.

How loud are these drums acoustically? Of course after 60+ years, I have to be concerned about the neighbors.
They are designed to look like acoustic drums, so the sound acoustically won't be much louder than a standard electric kit, or a set of practice pads.submitted4 years ago

Is there room on module to Add additional pads? And does a double bass pedal fit the kick head? The trigger pad looks small.
"four auxiliary analog trigger input". I would guess it's too small for a double pedal.submitted4 years ago

Can you put A double kick pedal on the bass drum
Probably. The issue isn't the trigger or can two pedals be used, the issue is can two pedals fit close enough so as to hit the trigger as close to center as possible. This looks good for double pedalssubmitted4 years ago
