Roland V-Drums 5 Series Kit Demos

Roland V-Drums 3, 5, & 7 Series Comparison

Description
Power meets precision in the Roland TD516 V-Drums kit, a dynamic setup that merges digital innovation with acoustic-style feel. Sitting at the heart of the V-Drums 5 Series, this set offers expanded playability with a larger kick, chrome hoops and responsive triple-sensor toms. The V51 module runs the same advanced sound engine as Roland’s flagship V71, giving players deep sound control, multi-layered tone shaping and quick editing options. Designed for studio artists and stage drummers alike, the TD516 balances compact efficiency with expressive performance. It’s another example of Roland’s legacy of building instruments that push drumming forward.
Roland Digital Pads Capture Every Nuance
From subtle ghost notes to explosive accents, Roland’s digital pads translate every touch with precision. The snare, hi-hat and ride all feature multi-zone triggering for detailed expression and dynamic control. Positional sensing on the snare mirrors the nuance of acoustic drumming, while the digital hi-hat responds smoothly across open, half open and closed states. The ride captures bow, edge and bell hits with natural sensitivity, making the TD313 feel like a true acoustic kit, ready for stage, studio or focused practice.
V51 Module Expands Editing and Customization
The V51 module powers the TD516 with over 70 preset kits, 130 user slots and more than 1,000 instruments drawn from Roland’s flagship V71 sound engine. Drummers can edit, layer and shape tones with precision—adding effects, adjusting pad sensitivity or blending ambient mic simulation for natural depth. USB-C multi-channel audio and MIDI support make direct DAW integration easy, while Bluetooth audio and app connectivity enable quick access to practice tools and downloadable kits. Whether rehearsing, recording or performing live, the V51 delivers flexible control and the expressive range that defines Roland V-Drums.
Built for Seamless Setup and Studio Flow
With the TD516 powering your drum beats, you'll find it easy to move from rehearsal to recording without breaking stride. Its MDS-Standard 3 rack provides flexible mounting for toms and cymbals, while large dual-zone crash pads with choke control and a reinforced kick pad ensure rock-solid stability under heavy play. Integrated practice tools—like the phrase trainer and stroke monitor—help drummers refine timing and technique, and built-in USB-C and Bluetooth connectivity keep the kit linked to DAWs, apps and Roland Cloud for sound expansion. Quick to assemble and ready for any session, the TD516 is built to keep your creative flow uninterrupted.
Built to Last
Chrome hardware and double-stitched pads resist wear from transport and daily playing. The reinforced kick pad holds up under hard hits, and the stand locks pads in place for stability. Tom sensors use triple detection to reduce dead spots and keep accuracy high. Materials clean up easily after gigs or practice sessions. The bottom line? This drum set is built to handle the demands of regular use and quick setup changes.
Why the Roland TD516 V-Drums Kit Should Be Yours
Drummers who value sensitivity, sound control, and reliability will find their match here. The TD516 delivers precision digital response, deep editing tools and professional-grade connectivity that make every session count. From quiet practice to high-pressure performance, it captures the touch and feel of real drums backed by Roland’s trusted innovation and decades of drumming expertise.

I came from Alesis Crimson II SE and I'm not impressed by the sound qualities and the amount of kits available from factory, I wish it came with two 14 inch crash instead 12inch and would of been nice to have the new DSX snare with low profile rim. for the money, no suer happy.

The snare, hh and ride are amazingly responsive and the on board sounds are a big upgrade. I used to use midi - ezdrummer but the internal sounds are so good I no longer have to. The USB can send 32 ch of audio so you have full control in your daw. #sweepstakes
