Roland V-Drums 3 Series Kit Demos

Roland V-Drums 3, 5, & 7 Series Comparison

Description
Small in footprint but big in terms of stage energy, the Roland TD316 V-Drums kit packs expressive playability and pro features into a compact setup built for real drummers. Driven by the V31 sound module—the same advanced sound engine found in Roland’s top-tier V71—it delivers authentic tone, lifelike response and endless room to grow. Dual crash cymbals expand creative fills, while the PD-12P snare with triple sensors and positional sensing mirrors the feel of an acoustic drum. With Bluetooth audio, DAW integration and wireless app control, the TD316 bridges home practice, studio recording and live performance. It all equates to an electronic kit that represents next step in Roland’s legacy of combining innovation with the feel and soul of real drums.
Snare and Tom Pads Refine Your Touch
The PD-12P snare pad uses three piezo sensors with positional sensing. This means the pad tracks where you hit—center or rim—and changes the sound in real time. The PD-8H and PD-10H tom pads use offset sensors, reducing hot spots and giving a more natural response. When you play ghost notes or dynamic rolls, the drum pads react with lifelike detail. Brush sweeps and rim shots sound accurate, helping players train their touch and technique.
V31 Module Powers Flexible Sound and Expansion
Sharing core sound engine architecture with Roland’s flagship V71, the V31 delivers expressive dynamics, detailed tone shaping and a deep library with 70 factory kits, 130 user slots and over 1,000 instruments. USB-C multichannel audio lets you route each pad to its own DAW track for precise recording and mix control, while Roland Cloud adds new kits and multilayered sounds as your needs grow. Bluetooth audio and wireless app integration make play-along practice effortless, and built-in tools—Coach Mode, Phrase Trainer and Stroke Monitor—help you track progress and refine timing and touch directly from the module.
Optimal Comfort and Customization
The VH-10 hi-hats mount on a traditional stand, giving open/closed control like acoustic hats. The dual CY-12C-T crash pads and CY-14R-T ride pad respond to bow, edge and bell hits, plus support choking for real-world cymbal techniques. The MDS-Compact 2 stand is sturdy and leaves space to add or upgrade pads. Pad inputs let you add a digital snare, ride or hi-hat for future expansion. USB and MIDI ports connect the kit to computers and software, making it easy to record, edit or perform live.
Durable Construction for Years of Use
Roland builds this kit for daily use and frequent transport. The KD-10 kick pad uses dense material for acoustic-style rebound and low noise. Double crash pads and reinforced frames reduce wear from heavy sticks and strong hits. All pads feature tough surfaces, resisting scratches and dents over long practice sessions. Lastly, the stand is built for stability and resists wobbling, so your setup stays solid during intense playing.
Why the Roland TD316 V-Drums Kit Stands Out
Drummers who want acoustic-style feel, advanced sound design and effortless connectivity will find it all in the Roland TD316. Its compact layout and expressive pads deliver precise control, while the V31 module brings flagship-level sound into any space. Backed by decades of Roland innovation, this kit supports every stage of your journey—from tight home rehearsals to polished studio recordings.

I tried it out at guitar center, and I was blown away by how good it was. The snares are awesome, on the td313 the snares sounded kind of bad. But this was a huge step up, I don't care what people say about how it doesn't sound realistic how the snares sounded bad with the strainers off the jazz Toms, it is a great kit. 10/10
