Roland RP102 Digital Piano: Ready for Practice and Enjoyment Every Time You Sit Down to Play

Roland RP102 Digital Piano: Authentic Sound and Touch Supports Your Playing as You Get More Serious

Thanks to its advanced capabilities, the RP102 blends in seamlessly with your modern lifestyle. It never needs tuning or regular maintenance, and includes onboard Bluetooth technology for connecting with a smartphone or tablet for instant enjoyment and enhanced learning. The RP102 is an exceptional piano value that is ready to bring musical enjoyment to your home for years to come.
The RP102 is equipped to inspire music making the instant you get it set up at home. There are over 200 ready-to-play songs at hand, including traditional music, classical masterpieces by Mozart and Beethoven and famous piano etudes from Hanon and Czerny. There’s also a convenient onboard metronome with variable time signatures, providing an essential tool to develop your sense of timing. If inspiration strikes at midnight, you can plug in headphones and lose yourself in rich, beautiful sound without disturbing family members and neighbors. And when you want to play side by side with a teacher or friend, you can activate Twin Piano mode and split the keyboard into two 44-note pianos, each with their own middle C.
Learn Faster With Piano Partner 2
Roland’s free Piano Partner 2 app for iOS and Android mobile devices is the perfect companion for the RP102. Via a wireless Bluetooth connection, it shows digital notation for the piano’s internal songs on your device’s display, and pages even turn automatically as a song plays. You can practice each hand individually by muting the left- or right-hand part, and freely adjust the tempo as needed. The app also provides access to backing rhythms and flash card games that help you build skills with intelligent accompaniment and engaging music exercises.Smooth and Easy Operation
With its straightforward interface, the RP102 lets you enjoy great piano sound with zero hassle—just press the power button, adjust the volume and start playing. And if you want to dive into the piano’s deeper features, simply call up Piano Partner 2 on your favorite mobile device. From the app, you can choose from a variety of piano and non-piano sounds, and even layer any two sounds together. In addition, you can browse the piano’s onboard song library, select songs and adjust the tempo numerically.Authentic Sound and Touch
Offering piano sound and touch derived from Roland’s premium digital pianos, the RP102 will continue to inspire as your playing grows and evolves. Roland SuperNATURAL technology delivers the rich, expressive tone you’d expect from an acoustic grand piano, while dynamic built-in speakers fill the room with immersive sound. And as your technique improves, the responsive PHA-4 Standard keyboard will follow every nuance of your developing touch. The piano’s three pedals are made of metal for an authentic feel, and also support half-pedal control. This technique is required to play more advanced piano pieces, and is not possible on typical entry-level instruments that employ less sophisticated pedal switches.Saves Space in Your Living Room
Acoustic pianos are heavy, costly to maintain and take up a lot of space. With its modern digital approach, the RP102 is the solution to all these problems and more. It weighs just 84.3 lb./37.8 kg and is easily moved by two adults, while the space-saving cabinet is about the same width as a 60" TV on a stand. What’s more, the advanced digital sound engine never needs tuning, saving you time and money. If you already own an acoustic piano, the RP102 is a great second instrument to place in a spare room for night practice. It’s also perfect for use in lesson studios and school practice rooms, making the RP102 an excellent choice for music educators as well.

After reading many reviews I purchased this keyboard and am generally happy. To be honest, if I could have a real piano I would have purchased that instead. I miss the sound and feel of an actual piano, with all the idiosyncrasies that can come with it. The sound and feel of the keyboard is almost too perfect. The action is a bit heavy for me. I tried adjusting it but still a little stiff. However, for this price this is a great keyboard. Great for learning and pretty lightweight as far as moving goes.
Great digital piano!

I wanted a piano to learn on and have in the living room. I looked at other digital pianos in the price rang but I like this one the most. I like that the RP102 is a full size keyboard with piano like keys, has a key cover, is simple to use as a digital piano, has foot pedals, and is over all a nice looking unit. I think the price is good for what you get. The app works well and is fun to play with too! The piano sounds are great and each piano does sound different! This is a great learning piano. I have been around grand and upright pianos and this is not really a replacement for a nice acoustic piano but as a small space practice piano I'm really happy with it.
Fabulous in all respects

I am thrilled to have found this piano. It's my third keyboard and by far the best. Most important, it actually sounds like a piano. The action is superb, and it looks like a piano (including the ivory-colored keys). Like a piano, it has a cover that slides out over the keys. The pedals are solid. The packing of the piano and all its parts was incredibly secure. The assembly instructions were clear as can be, and assembly was straightforward. The functionality of the keyboard itself is perfectly adequate for playing the piano voices and a small set of other voices but very limited as far as electronic gadgets (not least, drum machines) go. But the internet app provides access to an incredible array of gadgets that I have not begun to explore. If you want a fine, attractive, inexpensive piano, you cannot do better. If you're into electronics, the app should be more than satisfying.
No noise distortion. Sounds like a real piano!

I spent an hour in the store trying out every electric keyboard with 88 keys available on the floor. This includes electric baby grands too. This was the only keyboard that sounded like a real piano for all the keys. I was shocked how many other recognizable brands made pianos that only sounded legit for just the middle range or sometimes not even that. They all distorted the sound of the notes in different places to the point where it didn't sound like a real piano at all. Having realistic sounding notes was important to me since we were replacing a real piano with this and I didn't want it to ruin any ear training. The keys have the weighted reaction feature that feels right and they feel higher quality than many of the other keyboards whose keys felt like plastic. Note that while the keyboard itself is quite heavy, the stand is made if MDF particle board so you will want to take great care when putting it together so you don't accidentally crush part of the board or scratch it. Also don't recommend moving this piano much after after it's assembled. One of my family's favorite feature is the preprogrammed music that you can play along with too. With an iPad you can scroll through the entire collection and the selection is huge. You will really hear the quality of the sound demonstrated when you listen to those songs!

I love my new piano!! It works and sounds like a dream! I assembled this by myself with the help of my 7 year old (which wasn't much help, especially when it came to lifting it) but I did manage to get it put together. The main keyboard unit is extremely heavy. I highly recommend having a second adult available to help you with assembly. And the box is HUGE! It was at least 6 feet tall. It is now being used daily and we really enjoy it. The app that goes along with it is super cool too and easy to use.
