collapse expand iconDescription

Roland's RD-2000 is the ultimate stage piano for professional musicians. This innovative instrument features dual sound engines that power Roland's finest acoustic and electric pianos, as well as the most responsive keyboard action Roland has ever designed. With over 1,100 additional sounds and advanced master controller capabilities, the RD-2000 is equipped for any musical task.

Dual Sound Engines for Pristine Piano Tones

The RD-2000's dedicated acoustic piano engine utilizes Roland's latest modeling technologies to produce stunningly realistic grand piano sounds. Complex, multi-dimensional tones resonate with depth and clarity across the keyboard's full dynamic range. A second SuperNATURAL sound engine provides flawless recreations of classic electric pianos from the '60s, '70s and '80s, including the iconic RD-1000 and MKS-20.

PHA-50 Keyboard for Unparalleled Playability

The PHA-50 progressive hammer-action keyboard features hybrid keys made of wood and molded materials, combining the feel of an acoustic piano with rugged durability. Roland's advanced sensor and hammer mechanisms translate even the subtlest performances into precise sound. The PHA-50's slightly narrower keys and moderate key dip provide a familiar feel for experienced players while remaining accessible for beginners.

Intuitive Interface With Precision Control

During performances, the RD-2000's intuitive interface ensures effortless navigation. Eight knobs and nine sliders provide instant control over sounds and effects. Knobs feature LED indicators for precision adjustment and visual feedback on stage. Eight assignable zones enable you to map sounds to specific key ranges or create combination presets with up to eight layers. Save up to 100 keyboard setups to recall instantly during a show.

Over 1,100 Sounds for Any Genre

In addition to world-class pianos, the RD-2000 offers over 1,100 sounds for any musical style. SuperNATURAL technology provides expressive virtual tonewheel organs, synths, brass, strings and more. Two wave expansion slots allow you to load additional sounds from Roland's Axial website, including selections from previous RD models.

Advanced Master Controller Capabilities

With extensive connectivity and control options, the RD-2000 serves as an ideal command center for sophisticated setups. Easily integrate software instruments, hardware sound modules and more. Control external synths from the RD-2000's keyboard and route their audio through the RD-2000. A USB interface supports 24-bit/192kHz audio and Roland's new RAINLINK protocol for precise control of compatible software pianos.

Awesome

First of it is a quality product, great built. The keybed is smooth, just right for me and hopefully yours too. The ivory helps my sweaty fingers from sliding too much. The Audio Interface built in is great, at 48K 24bit that i used, i have no complain. The V-piano sounds is amazing and the E.piano are useful. The effects are easy to use. Knobs and faders are built to last. I have a good time at church and I mainly play contemporary christian music. If you have are considering it, you won't regret it.

Great Piano - bad Transpose

I have had several Roland keyboards over the years. Roland XV-88, Roland XP-80, etc. Overall I like the sounds and most features of the keyboard. However, I am highly disappointed with the function and placement of the Transpose button. After playing the XV-88 for years, which had the best Transpose button / function, the Transpose button on the RD2000 is almost useless. I would request that the Transpose button and function be changed back to compare with that of the XV-88. Since I use the Transpose button to modulate one half step during the song (only for a key I don't like to play in), the placement of the button is very awkward and you are forced to take your right hand off of the keyboard to transpose. Also, if you press the button and bump a note at the same time, you have no idea what key you will get because the Transpose value will be reset! Again, with the XV-88 that was never an issue. The Transpose setting is cleared when the unit is powered off. It must be reset every time the keyboard is powered on. The setting cannot be saved with the set-ups. IF you forget and start playing, you have a problem. I called customer support to request a software change to give me the option to save the setting in the set up and for touching the note to not affect the transpose value, but was told that would not happen. He said most people save the set up with key shifted in the set up. That means instead of using Transpose, you change to a different set. That does not work well when modulating during a song. Roland, PLEASE change the Transpose to function like the XV-88... Or at least give a parameter to turn off "setting Transpose value by touching the note" and allow ability to save the setting.

I play in a band that has reunited from back in the '70s. Most of our music is from that time although we are throwing some newer things out there. My "self-appointed" duty is to make it sound full, which is why I wanted the ability to layer and program on the run. The Roland is easier to program than a Yamaha, but still not fast enough for what I need, and there are way too many steps to go through.

I love the myriad of different sounds that this piano can make. It's easy to change sounds and to learn. There are tones of Youtube videos on the piano that are helpfull too. This is a heavy duty road worthy keyboard that I am just deligted to have. Thank you Roloand for making such a great product.

As a 30+ years' experience musician, I can tell, the Roland RD 2000 is a must have. A dream instrument made by a brand that knows what exactly the musicians want, need, and dream. Before you keep reading, for the best experience I strongly recommend you to install the latest update: the system update 1.50. But let me get to point. Why the RD 2000? The gorgeous and ultra-realistic sounds collection (from the internal sounds to the expansions), the superior control ability, the incredible keyboard feel and action, the intuitive interface and the features, all together makes this instrument a dream piano for any piano player or keyboardist. The PHA-50 progressive hammer-action keyboard with escapement, it's incredibly satisfying to play it! Once you start playing, you never want to stop! And you can download the sounds from the RD series, for FREE. The Roland RD 2000 was made to help you do the best possible show! When you are playing live, you really don't need your hands on a large touch-screen! You need your hands on the keys! So what you really need is easy CONTROL, knobs, faders, buttons, LED indicators instant visual feedback! And with the new Scene function, you can recall any sound or combination with a quick button while performing. But if you still want to play your software instruments, the RD 2000 it's your best partner for that. Read below. Roland went beyond! • Integrated Audio Interface at 24-bit /192 KHz. • Combine both internal and external sounds without compromising any of the other great features. offers the most extensive controller features of any RD piano to date • And you can create your own dream piano sounds collection with the V-Piano and SuperNATURAL technology. • Flexible audio outputs. Brian Culbertson was right when he said: "...whenever I randomly 'sit in' on a jam session or on another event where they don't have an RD there, it's not a fun night for me."
