Is this snare compatible with the Roland TD-1K V-Drums Electronic Drum Kit?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
The Roland PDA120LS-BK (from the V-Drums Acoustic Design 3 Series) is technically compatible with the Roland TD-1K module to a limited extent, but there are a few caveats to consider: Triggering: Yes, the PDA120LS-BK will trigger sounds when connected to the TD-1K module. Basic playability: It will function as a snare pad, providing basic hit detection. Limitations Dual-Zone Support Only: The TD-1K module only supports dual-zone pads (head + rim), not triple-zone pads. The PDA120LS-BK is capable of more advanced triggering (like positional sensing and multiple zones), but the TD-1K won’t fully utilize these features. No Positional Sensing: Advanced features like positional sensing or nuanced rimshot detection will not work on the TD-1K module. Aesthetic/Physical Fit: The PDA120LS-BK is a larger, acoustic-style snare pad, designed to match higher-end kits like the VAD series. It might look or feel a bit oversized next to the compact TD-1K setup, and could require a more robust snare stand (it won’t mount to the TD-1K’s rack). It will work, but you’ll only get basic dual-zone triggering.

Does this electronic V-Drum snare drum work with a DDRUM NIO Percussion Pad?? Will the "rim-shot" feature work as well?

It may. It will very possibly be inconsistent. It’s not a good idea to mix brands of e-drums.

Do you have to use a separate snare stand? Or does it mount directly to the E-Drum kit?

    Open Reply - Ronald
It would depend on the e-drum kit. Some of them come with the mount attached to the frame.

Is this snare drum pad compatible with a Roland TD17 KVX E-Kit?

The PDA120LS works with a TD17, but you will not get positional sensing because the PDA120LS itself does not support positional sensing.
