Absolutely Amazing Digital Piano!!!!!!!!
Opened my Roland FP-30 and what can I say? Wow!! Did I say wow? Well, I say it again. Wow!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe the sound of this piano. It is amazing. And the action feels very similar to the real piano I play at a local restaurant. This is actually what a real piano is supposed to sound like. Amazing! Way to go Roland!!! :) God is good! John 3:16

Great piano sound but using speakers only !!
I bought the Roland FP-30 relying on what other customers said about its sound, praising its internal speakers and I was extremely disappointed. It is true that the piano is great but only when listened to through headphones. The internal speakers are not quality speakers ! Not sure if this is because they are facing downwards but keys in the middle range sound especially synthetic very far away from what you would get on an acoustic piano.

I'm a beginner, but I like the piano

I don't have a lot of experience, but I grew up with a grand piano (I know that it's huge missed opportunity) so I know how a real one feels to play. It's obviously not a 100% realistic action, but I still enjoy it. I don't mind that there isn't a screen because I use the piano partner 2 app to change the sounds. The instructions were not very clear on how to connect the piano via bluetooth to my phone, but a few youtube videos showed that this can be done through the piano partner 2 app. For that reason I listed instructions as a con, but since there are good youtube videos I don't really see this as a problem. I really like the grand piano sound the best, but again not 100% realistic. However, I still like it. The sound of an instrument in entirely subjective and really up to you. Given the stay-at-home orders when I bought the piano I did not get to play it before it shipped and bought it based on recommendations from other people. I say this because I can't compare this keyboard to the comparable casios/yamahas/etc.

I use this for gigs and has the best grand piano sound of many other keyboards. The touch and feel is accurate to a good Steinway.
Great service, awesome instrument

For under $1000, this is definitely the best action on a keyboard you're going to find. As a classically trained musician, I'm very happy with this piano.
Tuning issue?

I love the key action on the Roland FP-30 piano. Unfortunately, I have determined that the sample piano used to produce the sound for this piano was apparently not exactly in tune. On my unit, the keys A2 and C3 through C5 are out a few cents over or under the true frequency. Since the note is based on a recorded sound, there is no way to correct it. While it is not apparent on every key combination, it really stands out on occasion. I contacted Roland service, and was told the FP-30 tuning was "similar" to the way a piano was tuned.

Hello, My understanding is that the FP 30 has built in speakers located underneath or behind the keyboard. Can you confirm please? Also, can I plug in my own speakers in order to get a better/bigger sound? if so what type of plug is it? what speakers do you recommend? Does the FP30 come with a bench, a music sheet holder or a sustain pedal?
This digital piano does have built in speakers. You connect external speakers to the 1/4" output. Any active studio monitors would work well. It does not come with a bench, music sheet holder or a sustain pedal.submitted6 years ago

I currently have a Williams Rhapsody 2 and I realized that it's a very cheap starter piano. The sound quality isn't good and the keys don't feel right. The keys tend to fall behind with the speed of my fingers and then the whole system glitches. I tried to use midi controllers but ended up wasting my money on stuff that won't work. I figured maybe I should buy a better piano that I can use to record without using MIDI controllers and just my iPad. This piano seems to be high quality, is that true? Will this be great for me to record through MIDI onto my iPad? Do the keys have an ivory texture to them? Are the keys graded lighter as my hand is going up the piano keys? Is there anything I should know about this piano before I buy it? Thanks for the help in advance 😉! Guitar center service is the best! Have a great day!
This is a substantial upgrade from your previous Piano. And this would work great through your Ipad, you just need the correct interface between them.
