Description

The Roland FANTOM-6 is a versatile music workstation keyboard designed for unlimited creative potential. Packed with advanced sound engines, real time phrase looping, powerful synth section, and much more, this innovative instrument provides an intuitive workflow for composing and performing music. The 61 note semi-weighted keyboard offers a familiar feel for keyboardists, while the streamlined interface with color LCD screen makes it easy to access the FANTOM-6's extensive features.

Next-Generation Sound Engine

At the heart of the FANTOM-6 is a brand-new sound engine powered by Roland's latest technology. It provides an expandable collection of electronic sounds for any style of music, including piano, organ, strings, brass, synths, and more. Users can customize sounds with real time filters, envelopes, LFOs, and effects or create original sounds from scratch using the intuitive synth editing tools. The phrase looping feature allows you to instantly capture musical ideas and build complete arrangements on the fly.

Advanced Synth Section

The FANTOM-6 features an advanced virtual analog synth section with multiple oscillator, filter, and envelope types. It provides a vast range of synth tones, from vintage analog classics to modern, cutting-edge sounds. Users can easily tweak parameters to create custom patches or select from over 3500 presets. The large color display offers an intuitive graphical interface for programming the synth engine and building complex sounds with ease.

Streamlined Workflow

Designed with performance in mind, the FANTOM-6 features an intuitive layout with dedicated buttons, knobs, and sliders for hands on control. The 61-note keyboard provides a comfortable playing experience for most keyboardists. A 16-track sequencer allows you to build complete songs by combining loops, software instruments, synths, and audio tracks. Professional grade connectors provide compatibility with audio interfaces, MIDI controllers, and more. The FANTOM-6 seamlessly integrates into any studio or live setup.

Expandable and Connectable

The FANTOM-6 comes equipped with USB, MIDI, and audio inputs/outputs for maximum expandability and connectivity. Users can load their own audio samples and software synths or connect external instruments, audio interfaces, and MIDI controllers. A USB memory port allows you to save user data to external storage and load new sounds. With regular updates from Roland, the FANTOM-6 will continue gaining new features and content for years to come.

This synthesizer is awesome. I love how I can use MainStage with it. I'm able to play patches from the Fantom and MainStage together. There's so many great features on here when it comes effects. I love being able to route inputs to subs or even using the vocoder feature. There's plenty of YouTube tutorials from Roland to get you started not to mention the Roland cloud has so many vintage sounds that you can add to the Fantom. It's a win!

The new Fantom is an unreal machine. The capabilities are endless while the sounds are crisp and clean. The workflow of the board is not as easy as other but not too difficult.

Operating in a single mode all the time help streamline performance. Relatively easy to figure out although the manual definitely comes in handy. Being a Kronos user this is light years easier to learn and the manual is light years better. In many ways this is a hybrid of the earlier phantom workstations with analog modeling synth elements of the vsynth GT built-in. Being able to record an entire performance on this instrument to the sample pads means without a computer you could record an entire instrumental album in a hotel room. It's a big improvement in synthesizer workstations.

Other than the sampling, how is the rest of the synth? I don't live in an area where I can easily go and test one out myself, I only have samples and demo videos to rely on. From what I have hear on line, it sounds lush and beautiful (as best as can be determined from YouTube videos and sound samples that is). Personally, I'm not very interested in sampling so, it's weak sampling features do not put me off much, I can do all the sampling I need through my DAW. One of the features that is especially compelling to me is its deep integration with Logic Pro X. Thanks.
