I will use it as a holder for my Line 6 Pod guitar effects processor, which fits perfectly with room left over for capos, slides, picks, etc. i am impressed with how stable & sturdy it is! Also, no assembly required.

Good Compromise

I have been using one of these once a week for about a year. It's a good compromise between nothing and what I really need, a big table. It's surprisingly heavy, but mounts easily and very securely. At first I was attaching it to the mike stand, but I found that it will also attach to a music stand, as long as you attach it to the solid lower section. I use it to keep 3 or 4 hand percussion instruments handy - it does get pretty crowded with more than 3 instruments however. The hooks on the bottom are great for hanging a tambourine or something similar. I also play harmonica and the MGT is perfect for holding several harmonicas, and has enough space to keep them neatly organized. It would be absolutely perfect for holding a small mixer or effects box. My only complaint is that it is actually sturdier than it needs to be - if it were made out of aluminum it would be a lot easier to carry around.

What is the max weight it can hold? If I use it for a mixer or sm Mac would it handle the 5lbs?
This actually depends on the stand you are using the tray with. It should be able to handle that weight.
