Reverend

Description

The Reverend Contender is the guitar maker's flat-top, single-cut set neck guitar. It's classically retro, but the offset body and six-in-line headstock give the guitar a modern feel. A strategic chamber under the pickguard increases resonance and reduces weight. The Contender RB includes Reverend’s all-new Retroblast pickups. The mini-humbuckers have percussive, yet smooth tone backed with plenty of energy for classic power chord crunch or rockabilly blues rhythms. Add a Bigsby B50, and this guitar effortlessly combines vintage with cutting-edge—a hallmark of Reverend’s original designs.

This is a great sounding and playing guitar. Balances beautifully on your shoulder. Sonically this guitar lives in Paulsville. Not much mini in those minihumbuckers but also good note definition clean. Roars with overdrive. The bass contour really works and is easier to use instead of adjusting the volume knobs on a Gibson. The Bigsby feels like a regular trem with that soft spring. The tuners are stiff but precise. The guitar is a looker with some flake in the paint. There was one slight paint smudge on the binding by the upper bout but the paint is even thruout. The neck is slighty wider than a Gibson but nothing like a PRS SE. Also this guitar fits in a regular case. My new favorite axe
