Restock VOX Joe Satriani Satchurator Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal Red Metallic

I have mixed opinions on this pedal. I play in a few cover bands and my core sound is a bluesy Fender Clean amp with some OD pedals. I planned on using this pedal for stuff that requires more gain and a harder edge. The Satchurator definitely fits the bill when I'm playing with my 3-piece band (where I'm the only guitar player). It fills up the space nicely with it's thick, compressed tone. However, when playing in two guitar bands, I get lost in the mix. My solos don't cut through at all, and even rhythm playing seems too flat when rolling off the guitars volume knob. I've tried bumping up the treble, but this pedal seems to shine on the bass-side of the tone knob. All in all, it's just okay and probably depends on your band's set up. I'd give it 5-stars for a 1-guitar band - covering everything from Satch to Zep to ZZ Top - it's fantastic. However, it's way too muddy to compete with a rhythm guitar player. Since Satch rarely seems to have a second guitar player, maybe this makes sense???

Just as promised, this thing does rock! Sound is very musical and not just a bunch of grind. Love it so far. Guitar Center is great.

I use a Zvex Box of rock pedal and after some careful consideration and reading reviews decided to purchase this pedal. What a treat. It has the most musical distortion I've ever heard from a pedal. I play through a 100 watt Marshall and use the clean channel. I'm a big fan of Satriani and this pedal works amazingly well. It's a very clean and articulate distortion and not muddy at all. I'm a pro guitarist and session player and all I have to say is WOW!

This pedal will sound INCREDIBLE....if you have the right combination of guitar, pedals, and amp to compliment. This pedal sounded like absolute GARBAGE when I used my strat, but when I hooked up my Les Paul, it gave a really nice crunchy tone! I recently acquired a new Fender Deluxe III Limited Edition and a MXR 10-Band EQ. I plugged into the Satch, then into the EQ, and ran that combination into the second Input on the Deluxe and all I could say is WOW!!!!! What came out of that amp was nothing short of a beautiful, full, and rich sounding crunch that I could never produce with the Crunch Box, or any other distortion/overdrive pedal I own!!! I am beyond impressed. So, if you have humbuckers in your guitar, a decent EQ, and a great Tube amp, you'll fall in love with this pedal!!!! Quit reading this and buy it!!!!

I've been working hard this last year on solidifying my sound. My lead tones in the bands I play for are known for being smooth, and tasteful, yet having that rock crunch to them when I need it. No pun intended, but I like to have a very saturated tone a lot of times. My pedal of choice for the last year has been an old Ibanez Soundtank PowerLead. The thing has amazing distortion tone for lead, but for my rhythm aspect of my tone, it just wasn't where I wanted it. So onto my rig and how this pedal fits in: I'm playing a Schecter Tempest Custom as my main axe, running through a Kustom wAv 212 combo. I play in a Christian Praise Rock band, a church worship team, and an Alternative Hard Rock band. So I need some versatility on my board. FEATURES: The Satchurator has that classic Joe Satriani tone, depending on how you dial the tone/gain settings. You can get anything from a slight crunch, to blues area gain, to all but high gain/metal distortions. Basically, if you have the gain set at moderate tones on this pedal, using the "more" switch will take your gain to 10. Also it boosts your signal a little bit, just enough to cut through a band for a smooth solo. the Satch and Vox did a GREAT job on this part. This pedal all around is a winner. Not to mention the vintage paint job and look of it is AWESOME. QUALITY/RELIABILITY: I wouldn't worry about this pedal breaking on me. The footswitch buttons are liquid-smooth upon use. I was amazed and pleased with this. Being in a worship team, nothing kills an intimate worship song like the pop of a footswitch button being activated. If it was broken or stolen, I would buy another, hands down. LOOK AND FEEL: As I said above, the vintage look of it with the knobs and the coloring is great. It's not any heavier then your normal pedals. CONCLUSION: This is the best distortion pedal I've ever used. Don't hesitate to check one out. This is not the typical tinny, treble-filled cheap distortion that is out on the market today. It has vintage tone, look, and SO worth the money.

This may be what I've been looking for. Max low noise gain. I'll be trying one of these for sure. If you didn't like it because it had to much gain it sounds perfect
