So I got these a few months ago and wanted to record a few different bands before giving the review. These are great in every way. Sound quality is amazing, no drops in certain frequencies and have an amazing flatness to them that has always been hard to find. They allow you to adjust the bass response from 36Hz to 80Hz as well as +/- 2db for treble as well as setting your acoustic room size. They are also built like tanks with the kevlar cone and even the tweeter is not the meshy plastic that's fragile which has always annoyed me with many monitors; it has a metal grille covering the tweeter to keep it safe. Another thing that's neat is that they have the auto on/off function: after about 10 minutes of no use they automatically turn off and turn on immediately when sound is played. I LOVE that. They even came with the foam wedges! So if you want a monitor that sounds great, is built extremely well, and will last you for years, get you a couple of these. I usually don't do 5 star reviews but I just cannot find anything bad about these. Good job Mackie!

Just picked up a pair of these. I didn't know what to expect with these because I purchased them before having a chance to test them but I am very happy with these. Sound quality exceptional, Everything is clear through the whole frequency spectrum. One of the things I am most impressed with is how well these speakers spread the stereo field. I can point out where every instrument is in a mix. These speakers are very flat, I hate monitors with too much bass or too honky in the mids and so far I haven't noticed anything that sticks out. These are just exceptional well balanced flat speakers with an incredible stereo field. I highly recommend them.
