Terrible Craftsmanship, Poor Customer Service
submitted14 years ago
byJONATHAN JOSEPH
fromPittsburgh, PA
I have owned this product for a total of 6 months and it has required repairs twice already, including a new motherboard, which has been on back order for over a month. I have yet to get my instrument back. I have been told that it will be another 4 weeks. I guess Korg expects their musicians to go without their gear and sit around and not play gigs while we wait for them to take their sweet old time fixing their faulty equipment. I have come to the conclusion that Korg is an unreliable brand and doesn't stand behind their products. Their manufacturers warranty only covers repairs. They refuse to replace my instrument, leaving me without. Korg's customer service representatives are rude and don't want to deal with customers, only authorized repair reps. The words "customer" service, means nothing to them. I was forced to replace this product after 6 months, a month of which it has been sitting in a shop. I'm still paying it off. It's a joke. I can assure you that I will not be buying Korg again.
The Perfect Gigging Keyboard

byZach Pretzer
fromMemphis, TN
This keyboard is perfect for a gigging musician. The sounds are easy to access, the patches are easy to program, and its pretty easy to layer sounds on the fly. In fact, for the most part, you won't need to do too much patching if you are using a lot of the basic sounds (which their samples are terrific). Some of the best sounds I've found are the grand piano, the Black Wurly, the VOX Classic Organ and the first preset Blues Percussion Organ, the Vibes, and the Pads. The Brass need a little tweaking with layer or something of the sort. If you are gigging (I play rock, especially 60's), this is perfect for you. It is incredibly light. It is so small, that it is almost too small for my on-stage double x keyboard stand. I'll need to be careful it does not slide off. Also, get a 49-key case for it. I got the cheap Musician's Gear 49-soft case and it fits PERFECTLY.
