I went to GC with no predetermined ideas on which snare to buy. I tried them all and this one sounded better than any of the others - including the Ludwig BB. I really like the 5 point tensioner for quick changing on the fly.

I typically tune high, and it sounds amazing there: though I should explore some lower tuning, given its dimensions. With the extra set of lugs it is heavier than you might imagine. The finish on mine has a bit of a purple tint to it, which is a good look. Oh, and it is quite loud.
