Restock Breedlove Congo Figured Sapele Concert CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

I play in an acoustic duo. Love this sound of this guitar. Great balance of low, mid-range and hi tones.

Perspective- Intermediate lifetime hobbyist-i just make fun noise. Bought this as a restock with a couple of binding/finish flaws. This and others, are actually quite a bit darker wood than the stock photos. Truly figured sapele with amazing grain, it is a typical Mahogany brown, not the orange-ish color the stock photos show. Google some images for a more accurate perspective. A Chinese guitar-yes....But a Breedlove spec, with brass fret markers, copper frets, Ebony fretboard. Plays fast and has a unique mid range. Neck is really nice and I often forget I am playing an acoustic instrument, even unplugged. It doesn't feel like my other acoustics, but it does feel like other Breedloves. The Congo is a GC exclusive,which is why you won't find much info about it out there. Overall, given some of the cosmetic finish issues on mine, it was WELL worth the 'restock price'. At new retail price, you are getting what you pay for, but I wouldn't call it a bargain. Incredibly fun to play and the unique feel and sound of a Breedlove, is inspirational in an atypical way. I found myself playing differently styles that sounded better on this than some others. Plugged in is an amazing acoustic experience, it sounds like it feels, smooth and easy.

I think this guitar sounds great and is beautiful. I bought mine in April and the top already has a slight belly on mine and the finish is starting to bubble on the binding. The finish issue may be a wide spread problem. If you look at the product image of the bottom of this guitar on Guitar Center's site you will notice some discoloration in the binding running between the strap jack the top of the guitar. It looks very similar to what is developing all over the binding of mine. I would consider getting one of the matte finish one's instead.
