Remo Renaissance Diplomat Textured Batter 14 in.

Description
For bass drums, Diplomat heads create a deep, round sound with a low fundamental and moderate attack. This combination allows a low pitch and high degree of control over decay as tuning and a variety of muffling techniques to modify the pitch and attack in acoustic and miked situations.

Amazing Heads!

I have used the Diplomat, Ambassador and Emperor weights of these heads, and all are excellent depending on the drum and your tuning preferences. I first tried the A-heads on my '50s Slingerland toms, but those were too ringy even with careful tuning. Those drums sounded way better with the E-heads. Point is, you may need to try different weights to get what you're after. I used a D-head on the snare, perfect. I now have an entry level Gretsch jazz-bop set. With the lighter-weight shells, I opted for d-heads on the toms as well as the snare, perfect. These heads have a wonderfully unique sound. The fact that the texture is integrated instead of a coating is a great benefit as these hold up way better than coated heads. Great for brush work. The color is calf-skin like for a retro look -not at home on all drum finishes so make sure it's what you want. I also use a REMO PS-3 head on my kick batter with a FiberSkyn PS-3 head in front. Some other companies make excellent heads, but I remain loyal to REMO. These Renaissance heads are a big reason why -unique, innovative, durable, absolutely outstanding.
