Well I got a 42 strand snare for Christmas, and it was time for a new batter head as well. Resonant head was original PDP that came with the kit (Pacific CX) so I thought I would replace it as well. I purchased a power stroke x for the batter, and the emperor for the resonant. Man oh man was I ever happy with the sound, once I got the new snare strung and heads tuned the sound was amazing! On my old setup I had to use moon gel to dampen the ring, now I don't use anything! Happy, Happy, Happy!
Would recommend for any drummer style.

This head with a coated ambassador for a snare side is awesome! it's loud and fades nice and quick, but not too quick. It's got lots of attack when tuned in the medium range or higher, but at a lower tuning it's kinda too quiet. If you play jazz or any type of light music then I would suggest a thinner snare head that doesn't quite speak so loudly. I have a 14x5.5 snare and this head makes it sound deep and punchy, great for rock or metal, or anything like that. I'd recommend it to any rock drummer any day.
