I got some of these back in the day and I was amazed at how good they made my relatively cheap poplar kit sound. Recently, I decided to buy some for my new 6 ply maple kit (I had been using coated emperors) and once again they blew me away with how much the sound improved. They really bring out the low - mid range of the maple, and a lot of those unwanted overtones I used to kill with moon gels with are greatly reduced, leaving just a clear, deep, punchy tom sound. If you have doubts about these, don't; these sound awesome on any kit.

Best heads I ever used - no muffle required!!!!!!

I tried these heads when they first came out just b/c I was curious. I knew that they looked good but I was skeptical about the sound. As soon as I tuned them up I was blown away. I have never had a head tune up so well. They hold pitch extremely well and have a wide range of tone. The are best suited for a warm wet sound.

When I opened them they definitely gave me a good feeling, but after tuning them and playing I was awe-struck by the great sound I had. It is worth every penny if your looking for the warm sound.

I bought these heads about a month ago and they are fantastic. they have a dark rich tone and are easy to tune. they are great for hard rock and metal. but they are a bit pricey. I am thirteen and can honestly say these heads are on their way to being a top seller.
