Warmth and Long Lasting

I bought these Red brand strings for a cedar-topped Takamine 12 string that sounded a little too "tinny" for my taste. I wanted to compliment the warmth of the cedar. I had previously used Red brand strings on a Martin 6 string that I gig with on a regular basis. The strings seemed to come to life a bit slower than others, however, they seem to retain their sound almost as long as coated strings. Mine were full of fret nicks but still sounded good after two months of playing. You can read reviews of people buying these strings, putting them on a guitar and then removing them because they don't like the sound. My experience is that these strings develop their sound over the period of the first two weeks (depending on your frequency of playing), so be patient. The 12 string now has a fuller, warmer sound. GC doesn't carry these in the local Austin stores so I ordered them online and got them in just a few days, picking them up at the store.
