I have to admit I didn't buy my RD-342 from GC because they were out of stock at their main warehouse in Kansas City. However this guitar will pleasantly surprise you. It is all-solid-wood and the tone woods are as good as/or better quality of cut than ANY other maker and the workmanship is excellent. Please keep in mind that I have played for over 50 years and I currently own SEVEN Martin acoustic guitars. The action is quite smooth and well setup. The sound is MUCH BETTER than one would expect from an eleven-hundred-dollar guitar. I put Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze Light (12-53) strings on it as soon as I got it home and the sound is full and rich. If you want a D-42 style acoustic guitar but can't afford $6400+ I suggest you check this guitar out!
