I shopped at the Joliet store. I'm a novice with my new banjo Recording King Dirty 30s Open Back. It's a beautiful instrument, sound is good, weight is perfect. I'm going to take banjo lessons soon. For now, I'm messing around on my banjo with the Hal Leonard Banjo Aerobics. The sales expert Tyler tuned up the banjo for me. He attached the beautiful new strap, a Perri's Floral Garden Jacquard Guitar Strap. I also purchased a Road Runner Avenue II Banjo Gig Bag to keep my banjo safe. Also, I tried out a few piano and keyboards. Fabian suggested trying a few different ones including the Williams Rhapsody III Digital Piano With Bluetooth Walnut. Beautiful sound and look. Love the hammer keys. It was ordered and I'll pick it up this week. Another piano that I'm comparing this to is the Williams Symphony Grand piano. Amazing piano I'd like to upgrade to it.
Would recommend to a beginner.

This was my first banjo, but it definitely seems to be a strong choice for a beginner. It sounds very old style and is enjoyable to play. It does sound a little weird when I mic it to record but it's nothing a little EQing can't fix. #sweepstakes

I bought this as a quick grab and go banjo so I wouldn't have to take my heavier main playing banjo to the park or camping. This is an awesome sounding little Open Back banjo.
Good banjo for the price

This is a good quality instrument. Guitar Center did not set up the instrument properly. I'm guessing they aren't too experienced in banjo set up. Buying a banjo from them and other big box guitar stores will require proper set up by a banjo expert to get the best out of the instrument.
