Great Banjo, Awesome Service

This is a great beginners Banjo that can take you beyond... I rec'd very good service from Andrew at their Lake Forest, CA store and the young man that does the re-stringing and tuning is just awesome, he does a great job with a great attitude!

Horrible build quality

I received the product three days after order. The outer packaging looked fine. The inner box looked fine. I opened the inner box and grasped the banjo to remove from the styrofoam wrapping and the peghead came off in my hand. There are obviously some very real quality issues at Recording King. All of my other banjos are Deering and Gold Tone. I thought I would give RK a try. Well, I did and I never will again.

Nice and loud which is super nice as someone who doesn't usually play with finger picks. Mahogany is beautiful. The only thing they seemingly cheaped out on is the pearl in the headstock which isn't real, but oh well— I'd still buy it again.

Like this Banjo, stays in tune and is decent sounding. Quality not bad and easy to play fret wise etc. Stock strings were fine and the bridge not bad My only gripe is that Recording King does not answer their own Email Question page on their web site. So Bad support from them and it will take a lot for me to buy another product they make, if ever again.

A great starter to intermediate instrument. A little over priced for my taste but if you can get it on sale all is good. Not too heavy and seems pretty durable. Sounds great and is that not what it is all about. Well as long as it plays good too.

Practice and performing for friends, sound load and crisp, but original stings were rusted a bit, but I order new stainless stings and changed them, works great 👍🏼. I did have to set it up, no big deal when you have the knowage.
