Introducing the new RØDE NT1

Behind the Scenes on the NT1 SoundBooth

New Rode NT1 Unboxing / Overview

Description
NT1 Microphone
RØDE’s design engineers approached the NT1 as a marriage of innovation and tradition, starting with the capsule which is a completely new design. Codenamed the HF6, it is the perfect example of RØDE’s fusion of artistic design approaches and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, and features a sound signature reminiscent of the famous microphones of old while at the same time exhibiting extremely low noise.
It has been developed with a focus on detailed midrange response, coupled with silky smooth high frequencies, and warm, round, bass reproduction to make the NT1 an absolute standout in its class.
In another world-first for RØDE, the transducer itself is suspended inside the microphone using Rycote’s industry-leading Lyre system, minimizing external vibrations at the capsule level. The capsule is then married to high-grade electronics that have been designed to provide the lowest noise level of any studio microphone available. The NT1 is an incredibly quiet microphone, measuring only 4.5dBA of self-noise.
Its body is machined from 6061 aluminium and then nickel plated for resistance against corrosion. Finally, it is coated in a durable, military-grade ceramic layer, using advanced electrostatic application techniques developed by RØDE to ensure an extremely hard wearing finish that is resistant to scratches or marks.
The NT1 is supplied with the SM6, a high-quality suspension shockmount that provides isolation from external physical factors that may cause unwanted rumble and vibrations in the microphone. It includes a removable cloth pop shield with two axes of adjustment and a telescopic arm for ultimate application versatility.
The NT1 is designed and made in Australia, and is covered by RØDE's industry-leading 10 year warranty.
The Capsule
The HF6 is the perfect example of RØDE's state-of-the-art fusion of artistic design approaches and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, with a sound signature reminiscent of the famous microphones of old, while at the same time exhibiting extremely low noise.
Dual Lyre system
The unique dual-Lyre suspension system of the SMR was developed by RØDE's engineers to improve the overall effectiveness of the shockmount. The smaller inner Lyre acts as a tension element, to maintain each Lyre in its neutral position where it is most efficient at cancelling vibration.

nice mic!!
I like this mic a lot! I have an akg c214 and an avantone cv12, and it handles sibilants better than both of them as far as vocals go. I am just not a fan of the bulky shock mount. It works great but, I just feel as though it is a bit of overkill.would definitely recommend it to others! Some ppl compare it to the Neumann's u47/u87 but I can clearly hear the differences. It is thinner than both in the bottom and top. Can't beat it for the price!

I like the Rode selection of microphones. I started with the Rode NT1A. While this is a great mic for the money it just didn't fit my voice, so I went to the Rode NT1 which complimented my voice. The construction of this microphone is outstanding and well built, so you will not go wrong with the Rode NT1. Rode also provides a 10 year warranty if you register the mic. Can't beat that. Hope this helps.
