Very Sturdy!

I got this stand because I purchased some organ pedals. My X stale stand would not fit over pedals. With the Z style stand I can fit my 88 keyed Rolland FA-08, Yamaha MX-49, and StudioLogic MK-113 midi organ pedals! Now I am a one man orchestra!

Get it together, Quiklok!

First of all, let me say that this keyboard stand is rock solid and very well made. QuikLok is a name I've purchased before and have relied on for many years. Be that as it may, here's why I only give this product 2 stars. I purchased this Z-726L model earlier this month, but didn't assemble it until closer to the end of the month because I am redesigning my studio with new gear. So everything was gutted out and there was no point in assembling the stand (so I thought). I also purchased the Z-728 mic boom attachment along with a universal clamp-on music stand to complete the set. Today, I attempted to put the stand together and was completely stunned at how poorly the assembly instructions were. By following the diagram, the instructions LITERALLY have you to assemble the stand BACKWARDS!! By following the instructions, your shins would be scraped raw by the steel support bar at the bottom of the stand. To confirm, I went back to QuikLok's website to see a picture of the Z-726L and sure enough, it is supposed to be the other way around. Adding to these awful instructions, there were two washers in the hardware pack that were not mentioned AT ALL as to which bolt those washers were supposed to be used with. I suppose QuikLok decided to leave that up to the user to decide for themselves where to use them (if at all). Next, the Z-728 mic boom attachment states both at Guitar Center as well as QuikLok's websites that it is for use with all Z stands except the Z-722. Well, I bought the Z-726L and it is NOT COMPATIBLE! The attachment photo on Guitar Center's and QuikLok's websites both show the attachment with an open end on the LEFT SIDE which allows the bolts to pass through and connect the side frame to the upper tier support beam. Well, either there was some mix up at QuikLok and they mislabeled the part and sent me the wrong product, or worse, they redesigned the product and didn't update the product compatibility list! But the product I ended up with had a solid steel plate on the left side that blocked the bolt holes preventing me from securing the upper tier to the frame! So, I had to return the boom arm attachment along with the music stand because without the boom arm, I can't use the music stand either! As for the Z-726L, I wouldn't have had a problem reorienting the stand to the correct configuration - simply remove a few bolts, flip the bottom support beam, reattach and move the upper tier to the opposite end. But by following those backward instructions, I already attached the foam padding to the lower level of the stand - and that adhesive is STRONG. So I had to peel it off without ripping the foam, use a gum remover to get the adhesive off the wrong end of the stand and reattach it with two sided tape - which I now had to go out and buy! Get it together, QuikLok! For this, you should be ashamed.

I have an Yamaha motif es8 on the bottom and an m audio 88 key controller on top. Gets the job done and some.

  • Great but wish it had more options

I like the stand it holds my heavy weighted 88 key keyboard great. However I wish the company sold extra attachment options. If they sold extras of the level 2 bars then I could hold my laptop next to my midi controller all above my Yamaha s90es. I guess I could work around that by putting the midi controller and laptop on a piece of wood but I was hoping to have a more mobile light weight option(if live music ever happens again). They should also make a boom Mic attachment and sheet music attachment but what did I know. It's still the best multilevel keyboard stand I ever bought.

Everything arrived intact and rack is very sturdy. I found the instructions to be typical with most everything else I have assembled. This rack is a big improvement from the current x style frame we have now. I would highly recommend this rack especially if your keyboard is more to the heavy side.

One of the best stands that I have used. This is the stand you want if you choose to use bass pedals.... In my opinion, this stand is not for the gigging musician as the setup is a little too cumbersome, but for studio or install.... Very sturdy and configurable.

  • Much improved over previous versions

Stand has been improved since 2013 and I've ordered several of them and I use them on the road and also in the studio the only problem is some of the threads need to be tapped out because of the powder coating gets caught in the threads other than that I've modified the stands the suit my needs by adding extra length to the top tier and then adding my own music stand and accessories

What are the microphone stand and music stand in the second picture? Are they quik-loc? I'm trying to find them to see if they are especially sturdy for attaching to this frame.

I’m sorry, I don’t know. We don't have that as a product package.

This seems unnecessarily cumbersome and impractical. I had a Quik Lok Z stand that was one piece (two tier) and it was easy to move around and assemble. There were three parts to it: two stands, and a bar across the bottom. That. Was. It. Does Quik Look (or anyone else) make a stand like that?

Am I able to use a laptop on the second tier of this keyboard stand? If not is there such a stand where I can use a latop along with the keyboard on a single stand?

Not with this, and I'm not aware of any that you can do that. You would have to use a separate laptop stand and a keyboard stand.
