I've downloaded the updated firmware and registered the product at QSC. The interface is SOOO much better with the new firmware. It is still a little buggy with the wireless network and recording, but I'm hoping that a USB 3.0 device will let the recording work (I tried using USB 2.0). The built in info is good, but I've already submitted two tickets to QSC support for help. The suggested workarounds are a little trivial to get everything working correctly. I'm still getting used to it and learning all the features as I go.

  • Wish I bought it sooner!

I kept my analog board but have not taken it out of the case since purchasing the TouchMix-16 over 9 months ago. There is a brief learning curve (I practiced with it for a week in the basement before using it at a venue). The ability to record is a plus, but when bands find out you have that feature, they will want a recording every time. Having the mixer remember the sets from previous jobs is a time saver; the mixer allows me to stand at each mic an make adjustments to the monitors before the gig. Once I have saved a monitor mix, I usually only need to set the monitor mix's main volume for the next gig. The mixer weighs almost nothing compared to my old analog board. One downside is you will be moving with your IPad most of the time and will not sit down as much, but you will be able to hear the mix from about anywhere in the venue. The information feature is a huge plus. It is a built in operating manual that will help you, especially the first few times you use the system. I use an iPad holder attached to a mic stand which allows me to perform and still make adjustments, especially to the monitor mixes. I can't imagine going back to an analog system with a snake. If I were to quit using this mixer it would be because I purchased a TouchMix-30!

I bought this mixer for a four-piece band because it had all of the built-in effects, recallable scenes and individual channel recording. Overall, this mixer is incredibly easy to use. I really like that I can re-play from rehearsal and adjust the effects and save the settings in a scene on a song-by-song basis. Recalling a scene only takes a few seconds to have a totally different configuration.

Is this bundle (Touchmix 16 and SKB case) for $1449.98, new or used? This is is a good offer from Guitar Center if that is the correct price, since the Touchmix 16 sells for $1659 by itself.
