QSC

collapse expand iconDescription

The QSC TouchMix-16 16-Channel Compact Digital Mixer puts pro-level live mixing capabilities into an easy-to-use, portable package. This innovative mixer from QSC delivers pristine sound quality and robust routing and effects processing through an intuitive touchscreen interface, ideal for managing medium-format mixing tasks. Musicians and audio engineers alike will appreciate the TouchMix-16's versatile connectivity, including 12 XLR inputs, 4 XLR/1/4" hybrid inputs and multiple aux and main outputs to handle a range of input sources.

Touchscreen Interface Provides Effortless Control

The TouchMix-16 is operated through its built-in 7" color touchscreen, enabling quick and intuitive control over all mixing parameters. Users can choose between Advanced Mode for total control or Simple Mode for essential adjustments only. The touchscreen mimics the familiar layout of a traditional analog mixer, with clearly labeled knobs, faders and buttons on an easy-to-read display. This innovative yet approachable interface allows both novice and experienced engineers to easily craft professional-quality mixes.

Four Powerful DSP Engines Deliver Pristine Sound

At the heart of the TouchMix-16 are four powerful DSP engines providing EQ, dynamics, delay and reverb on all input channels. Six aux sends are available for monitor or effect sends, each with their own dedicated EQ. The mixer offers a variety of professional-grade presets to get you started, which can then be customized to your needs. Additional effects include pitch correction on channel 1 for vocal tuning. With its robust DSP capabilities, the TouchMix-16 delivers the polished, nuanced sound quality required for live performance.

Plentiful I/O Options Handle Diverse Input Sources

The TouchMix-16 provides extensive input and output connectivity for handling a range of input sources in live and recording applications. Twelve XLR inputs and four XLR/1/4" hybrid inputs offer microphone and line-level connectivity, while the stereo RCA input pairs accommodate media players or keyboards. Dual USB ports allow direct recording to a flash drive or streaming audio via a Wi-Fi dongle. Multiple aux, main and monitor outputs—including six XLR aux sends—provide flexible routing options for in-ear monitors, mains speakers or recording equipment.

Roadworthy, Compact Form Factor

The TouchMix-16 has a rugged yet compact form factor suitable for mobile live sound mixing on stage or in tight spaces. Its lightweight, all-metal chassis protects the mixer during transport while keeping it highly portable. The optional TMS-1 accessory bag provides padded protection and storage for cables, microphones and other accessories. For live sound engineers and working musicians seeking an intuitive, portable and affordably priced digital mixer, the QSC TouchMix-16 delivers professional results in a road-ready package.

Home Studio Rookie Musician

I've only been playing music for 5 years. We have a small home studio that friends come over and jam. I started recording about a year ago. First with an old Tascam 4 track Cassette (yeah seriously!). Then to a Zoom H6 (because I needed more inputs). Next was an older Tascam 16 channel USB mixer, that only had 6 Mic Preamps. Still needed more inputs. Tried a big name digital mixer with 16 Preamps + firewire. Loved it. But it was not reliable, it kept locking up. After reading lots of similar reviews.... back it went. I love my QSC K10's so much I was willing to try QSC's first mixer. PLENTY of inputs. Great live meters on every channel. Great Effects. Did I say super easy to use? Within minutes I was mixing and even recording! Very intuitive interface! I was a bit concerned about only seeing 8 channels on a screen. It's very quick to flip back to the other 8 channels.. or even better connect an iPad on the built in Wifi Router and put 1-8 on the iPad and 9-16 on the Touchmix. Beautiful!! Being a computer tech for a living, I understand that computers/phones/tablets/etc can all lock up at some point and need a reboot. But this is one device that needs to be stable. Since QSC built the OS with Linux, this is one stable digital mixer. Can't wait to see what new features QSC builds into the next version of the firmware. Running v 2.1 at the time of this review. I hope my review helps some of you home studio rookies pick a great product!

I don't recommend it

On my second time that I used it, it was turning off back and forth. The major issue is it has very very low volume. I have all my speakers, Qsc and subs they are great The only good thing doesn't hold any noise

I use this to manage sound for my bands practices, performances, and recordings. It has dramatically improved my understanding of mixing but at the same time allows me to not have to have a detailed understanding of each of its features in order to be successful. Over all a fantastic mixer!

I previously emailed and asked if this came with a case and I was told it does not. However, I called QSC directly and they stated that these all come with a soft case inside the box, and that all licensed retails are shipped the same boxes. Can you confirm that this has a soft case inside? Thanks

After looking into this, it does come with a soft case. I'm going to have the details online updated to reflect this.
